I agree that Coraline starts to get hooked at first but then she changes her mind. Evidence of this is on Page 31 when she met her ‘other mother’. The ‘other mother’ cooked food that she liked and it tasted wonderful to Coraline. On Page 33 her room has books with moving pictures and a full toy box unlike in her normal home.This evidence might make it seem like the other world is a wonderful place, she does end up wanting to go back to reality because the world doesn’t end up being as wonderful as it seemed at first. On Page 50 Coraline walks into the kitchen and there were buttons, cotton and a needle on the counter ready to be sewed into her eyes. When Coraline sees this she says "I don't think so."But her ‘other mother’ says "Oh, but we want you to. We want you to stay." Also on Page 68 when the ‘other mother’ is trying to get Coraline to love her like when Coraline asks "Where are my parents?" Her other mother replies with "We're Here, Ready to love you and … and make your life interesting." Because of this, Coraline doesn’t want to stay in the Alternative World and wants to leave and live the life she used to live.
