Nitrohax (homebrew Action Replay alternative) now working as a .CIA!

A free alternative to Action Replay cheating devices for Nintendo DS games, Nitrohax, has been released in CIA format to work on the Nintendo 3DS. Download below, and this video made by @Apache Thunder and recorded by @Sasori will show it off!

Also:

Don't forget, that you currently need dev Luma3DS 6.0 or newer CFW and patched TwlBg.cxi before you can use this. So if you get the fat init failed error you don't patched dev launcher yet. More on that here:

https://github.com/ahezard/twl_firm_patcher

and a guide to use it here https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-use-twl_firm_patcher.438703

The script gives me an empty file, even though I have Python installed. It says 'cp' is not recognized as a command. I don't really know diddly about python, so is there some preliminary step I'm missing here?

Ok, I think I managed to get twlBg.cxi, but now I'm stuck at actually patching it in via these instructions:
https://github.com/ahezard/twl_firm_patcher
Of the three "enabler programs" listed, two of them seem to require an R4 (which I don't have), and with the other one, I can't figure out how to compile it since the readme is basically useless and the build_cia.bat doesn't seem to work. Does setting all this up just require an R4? I was kind of assuming that this was a way to not have to use one. :/

Well, mind telling me how you patched it, then? I have mine in luma/sysmodules but booting Nitrohax just gives me a blank white screen.

Can anyone confirm the MD5 for a N3DS "twlBg.cxi", assuming they're all the same? I'm just getting a white screen when trying to start any DS app after putting the cxi in luma/sysmodules.

I did try re-making the file and now Nitrohax DOES open, but now once I tell it to open a game with a code on (tried both Pokemon Pearl and NSMB), it just hangs on the screen with the colored squares on the bottom. So close, yet so frustrating!

EDIT: So, having no card in the slot when you boot Nitrohax is actually very important! I tried doing it like in the video in the OP and it worked like a charm.
Pokemon Black doesn't seem to work at all though; and I have no idea how to implement the firmware it's asking for on something like this haha. Oh well.

No, only with real cartridge for cheat codes. If you have a linker, you can use the cheat feature of your flashcard...
But yep, you can launch it...

You are wrong, read the server.txt read me it clearly says:

"If you wish to connect to an alternate Nintendo WFC server, you will need to:

Dump your game rom using Decrypt9(or download it, if you are a pirate...)

Run it through WfcReplay, found here: https://github.com/Prof9/WfcReplay

Copy the code into a .xml file(just remove all the newlines and put it into the template in the archive)

Rename it to cheat.xml and run NitroHax, select the code, and run the game!"
