Hacking 3DS NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hi there, i'm a super noob to 3ds cfw (lol) and want to ask some questions, so here it is :

1. Can i change my A9LHX cfw? (ex : reinand to Luma) and how to do it?
2. I can't find some game that i really want in .cia format so can i download it as .3ds form and convert it to .cia? if yes how can i do that?
3. Should i update my game via online or via a separate .cia is better? and if i decide to use the separate .cia file, how can i install it to the main .cia?

I guess that's all and sorry if i ask too much

1.Delete reinand folder, reinand folder from the 3ds folder, and reinand.dat, and download the latest luma build, extract, and put the luma3ds.dat, luma folder, and the 3ds folder to the root of the sd card.
2.Yes. Use Decrypt9 for cart to cia, or use 3dsconv by ihaveamac.
3.You can do it both ways, but the safest is to update via cia.

I've downloaded v1.12d and put it on the microSD card. As per here that is the latest kernel for my R4i card (mine doesn't have the v1.4 logo but does have the ⓘ logo).

I have a boot.3dsx file and also an auto.3dsx file. Do you know what the "auto" file is for?

I don't think you need such a file on the 3ds, if you can load homebrew loader, then it should tell you what it does. Also Payloads are only for secondary exploits, Save game exploits to be more specific.

I think those versions of the r4i only support dsi or lower.

no ive not edited it. and it was showing earlier without that tux on it. so its rather weird. earlier as in not but a bit ago btw.

I have another dumb question! I'm getting a N3DS, and want to use the 32GB micro SD from my O3DS. I assume I can use it, but since I'm not system transferring (different region) I should backup saves and will have to reinstall all of my games/cias?

Turns out my cheap ebay sdhc card reader had failed/broke and I couldn't transfer files over, that's why my sd cards were not working.

Anyways. I completed Part 4 Section II - Injecting FBI. Problem now is; I see the FBI from health and safety information, but I don't see EMU in settings. If I load SYSNAND there is no FBI in Health and Safety Information. Where did I go wrong?

Press Select when you boot into Luma and check "Show current NAND in System Settings." You're not supposed to inject FBI into sysNAND, only emuNAND.

old 3ds uses SD cards, new 3ds use Micro sd cards. But backup save data would be okay

Hi,
I have pressed De/Encrypt Key Database from Decrypt9WIP and said that keys are now decrypted,success and I pressed it again and now are encrypted again.
I didn't mess with anything right?I didn't break my a9lh installation?

No you didn't break anything, you don't need to concern yourself with titlekey decryption/encryption. Is not effecting the a9lh

I was just testing the new version of Decrypt9WIP and I was afraid that I just did something wrong by doing that.
I hope it won't affect the DSi Downgrade method too(but I guess it will not)

I actually use a micro SD in an adapter for my O3ds, so it would be a straight transfer. But I'm thinking that won't work because there's no NNID on the region changed N3DS, right?

Hi guys, recevied an O3DS for CFW purposes today. I upgraded it via cart to 9.8.0 since it's the closest to 9.2.0 I had. My only cart based entry point is basehaxx, and my version is 9.8.0-0E. I went thre ; http://smealum.github.io/3ds/ and I can't dowload the robpin for X-0E versions. What can I do now?

My sysNAND_original is 954 mbs and emuNAND_original is 943 MB

Is it okay if my em and sys NANDS are different in size?

A valid NAND backup should be one of the following sizes in most situations.

Occasionally, you will get a backup with a different size than one of these listed. It is fine for a backup to be larger than expected, just ensure that it is never smaller than the sizes listed.

Your backup should match one of the sizes on this page; if it does not, you should delete it and make a new one!

The brand name refers to the manufacturer of the NAND chip in your device, not your SD card.

Old 3DS:
+ Toshiba NAND:
988.807.168 bytes = 943 MiB

+ Samsung NAND:
1.000.341.504 bytes = 954 MiB

I got my R4 card to work just fine, but when I try to load Aperture Science DS through the Homebrew Menu (which I load with Moonshell) I get a Guru Meditation Error. Am I doing something wrong?

Back up your save data, Use homebrew to extract save data from each game and move it to a safe place. Then after installing the games on the new system, restore the save data.

I'm stuck on Part 4 Section IV

Remove any TWL_FIRM modifications done to the device or PlaiSysUpdater will throw an error
(if you have no idea what this is, don't worry about it; most users will not need to do this)
- To do this, use 3DNUS to download the stock TWL_FIRM as a CIA, then install it
- New 3DS TWL_FIRM Title ID: 0004013820000102
- Old 3DS / 2DS TWL_FIRM Title ID: 0004013800000102
Launch the Health and Safety Application (which is now FBI)
Navigate to SD then PlaiSysUpdater.cia and press A to install

Have you modified your TWL_FIRM at all? If you haven't, and the guide says this, but you can skip that step.
