>only 3 are good
Dude, what the hell are you smoking? Like seriously that has got to be some heavy shit if you think that there are only 3 good vita games. Stop being delusional

I didn't mean that literally lol and I also didn't say that there were only 3 good Vita games, I meant there are only a handful of original games for the system, and even fewer that are good. Just in the last few months on 3DS we have: Monster Hunter Gen, 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, Kirby: Planet Robobot, Gotta Protectors, Rhythm Heaven, Bravely Second and Fire Emblem. Plus more to come like: Dragon Quest VII and VIII, Monster Hunter Stories, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, Azure striker Gunvolt 2, and a new Pokemon game. Plus go look at any other system and tell me the vita still has near as many good games in comparison. I love my Vita but it's at the bottom of the list.

Wouldn't that make it that the Vita only has 3 good EXCLUSIVES instead of 3 good games? If it's a well done port, remaster, or Indie...it's still a good game on a good handheld. My wife & I both owned our Vitas for a month or so. We knew there was no hacking scene at the time, we knew the mem card prices were beyond crap, we knew that Sony has dropped 1st party game support here, but we bought them anyways & are enjoying them for what they are.

If this opens up the chance for us to shelve our PSPs & run some emulators for all the older system carts my wife has...bonus!

There seems to be no energy for it. The Vita is such a unpopular system that the effort is not seemingly worth it.

I would buy a Vita if I could play Vita backups. But if I can't, there's no point. Chicken and egg situation.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind having a backup loader myself. But honestly when you can play almost every vita game on other platforms it seems like a wasted effort.

Portability is such a beautiful thing.

The vita version would be the superior version in every case(at least for me).

In most cases yes, which is why I want emulators on the go. I just don't see pooling so much resources to get vita piracy when you could use that time and effort to develop some killer homebrew programs and solid emulators with 100% compatibility. I would love to actually see homebrew ports of stuff like Undertale.

Yeah cross reference that sorry list with 3ds and you'll see what i mean. Gal gun? Hatsune Miku? Sengoku what? Dynasty Warriors 172? No thanks. I'm not saying Vita has no games at all, I've played a good hand full of them. But take away ports, remakes and indie games and your left with like 5 games... and only 3 are good lol
That disingenuous and you know it. The system gets loads of niche titles and exclusives(sometimes). Just because the games coming out don't appeal to you don't claim they don't exist because the system is still getting good games on a fine if not offbeat basis

THANK YOU. This is exactly what I was trying to say. Games are still coming out for the vita and heck 2016 has been an amazing year for the vita so far. I do know that not all games appeal to everyone but like Daggot said that is no reason to just disregard them entirely and act like they don't exist

But are a few niche titles worth all the work? Plus I never said they didn't exist, only that the numbers are so few it seems pointless. My favorite games on the system are Persona 4, Disgaea 4, Odinsphere, Muramasa Rebirth, Dragons Crown and both Rayman games as-well as many others. But none of those are exclusives and I could easily live without playing them on the vita. If you asked me to give up the vita game side of my system to have awesome homebrew then I'd do it in a heartbeat and just go play those games on other systems.

Classic sayings of someone who doesn't know well the Vita. Ignoring the titles he doesn't know and bullying the rest for any reason.

The appeal however is the fact that with those games being on the vita they are PORTABLE. I don't know about you but I actually take my vita around with me a lot to play games on the go and even if I have a game on 2 platforms I'll spend more time on the vita version than the console/pc version because of that simple fact of it being portable. It's a small element but a big element at the same time.

I mean ffs if you have games on both ps3/ps4 and vita then most of the time they'll have cloud saves so you can take the game on the go with you and continue right where you left off. Games not being exclusive to the platform isn't always a bad thing.

I'm honestly not trying to bully. All I'm saying is effort could be put to better use. Also Vita games are cheap as hell. Just go buy your games and put more work into awesome programs that wouldn't be on there otherwise

Some of my favorite games on the system are Demon Gaze, Soul Sacrifice and Tales of Hearts R, there are also games that I think fit the handheld format better like Stranger of Sword City and Rhythm games in general. I like the emulators and related ports but I would give it all up if it meant we traversed closer in the game mods and translation department.

different strokes for different folks I guess.

To add to the list of favorite vita games I found titles like super stardust delta, superbeat xonic, TxK, Ultra Despair Girls and freedom wars to be excellent vita games and well worth your money (also all those games I listed are vita exclusives fyi).
The vita doesn't have a shortage of good games, far from it. It has tons upon tons of them. And honestly is having a handheld version of a console game really a bad thing? No, I didn't think so.
