Nintendo releases Metroid Prime: Federation Force - Blast Ball

Today Nintendo released a new video for Metroid Prime: Federation Force called Mission Briefing. Check it out below:

Also:
Even better, as of right now Nintendo 3DS owners who visit Nintendo eShop can download Blast Ball, the game's friendly competitive multiplayer mode! Fans can battle it out complete with online support, and even compete with players who own the full game once it launches. In early September, the multiplayer servers will switch over to support the full game only.

Have fun checking it out and happy blasting.

Well... At least it's an FPS, that's better than the initial reveal which featured the ball minigame only. I still don't get the "chibi" angle though - Metroid was one of the few "serious" Nintendo games, this is nothing like the previous games, it has an aura of a "kiddie" Metroid, and I hate that. Garbage, not the game we've waited for.

When they made me actually hop into the mech suit, I got excited to see what kind of in-suit/out-suit mechanics they had conjured up, but that's not used ever during the actual demo. What was there wasn't bad, Rocket League with guns, but it all felt very standard. Decent, but boring. I was really looking forward to a mechanic where you change up your playstyle on the fly by getting in and out of the suit. :( Maybe make the suit have the best mobility and weapons, but have a mechanic about being able to set it on the field in strategic places and, I dunno, pass to it, or something like that. This is just some garbage off the top of my head, but I feel like they could've done something new and cool if they got a little creative with it.

Edit: Ooh, or maybe have a mechanic where you can abandon the suit for a quick, 1-use burst in mobility, having the cockpit launch you out and send you either into the air or towards the ball or something. Maybe you could give the out-of-mech mode some small paralysis power like ZSS's pistol, where it does minimal damage and launch power, but it can stun enemies at close range. Seriously, there's a lot of potential here, I feel.

when you unlock the training(which is more like the real game than Blast Ball) the commander mentions Samus(and a chibi model of her is shown)

I feel as though people are knocking this because it's not "a real metroid game". Since when we're their requirements for a game to be a actual game? People that say stuff like "MARIO HAS TO BE A 2D SIDE SCROLLER TO BE A REAL MARIO GAME" are the kinds of people that would do that

Seems like it, from what I've seen it doesn't say "Demo" anywhere, and all of the features are unlocked
Of course it doesn't need to - because the article says Metroid Prime: BLAST BALL. Not "Metroid Prime: Federation Force".

i like how the 3ds' low res screen is what gave us the dwarf force.

slightly disappointed that single player will basically be super hard mode. that'll lead to some people getting frustrated.

It's not just the video but the release of the multiplayer Blast-Ball mode which actually looks to be pretty fun.

Those that can't get over the idea of a Metroid game without Samus need to just accept that this isn't that game, and see it for what it really is. And really it looks like a pretty dang fun game, I don't get to play as Samus, oh well, doesn't mean that the game doesn't look any fun.
its not even without samus, its just without samus as a playable character (which i would assume isn't even absolutely true either, i'm betting there's gonna be some extra mission where you can use her after all)

Can anyone from the EU region confirm if they gave the entire game for free?

I still think the article was being misleading.
i don't know i Dl it from the eshop i have an AU N3dsXL , but i had just ran ticket devil to generate all Eu tickets so i am not sure if it was free or not

but it is not even worth free, they could not even pay me to play this garbage , it is literally THE worst game i have ever experienced

So Nintendo is making every effort to make this game fail by releasing a demo of the worst part of the game.
