Excellent tool, and the interesting thing is that the game does not allow charms that are exaggerated in status, such as giving 10 points Evasion. :huh:

I included the skill limit check functionality because invalid talismans show up as blank in game.

Sorry about that. I can confirm on some Windows 10 machines this does indeed get identified as a virus.
Already submitted a report to Microsoft so hopefully they can clear this up quickly.

Note: I re-uploaded a new compile of v0.4.0.4 but that still gets identified as a virus.

Any chance of adding Edgemaster/Edge Lore to the list? I looked but unless I'm blind I missed them lol
Switch the editor to MH4G/MH4U mode via the drop-down combobox on the top right.
Edgemaster and Edge Lore are in the "Combined" category at the very bottom row.
For edgemaster only it is also duplicated in the "Melee" row (row 4).
Note that neither of these skills are in MHX/MHGen

Got it working.
Somehow after a few tries i could download it without windows being a bitch. i dunno why.

Yes there are different limits for each skill whether it is the first or second skill.
For example, only the second skill can have negative values.
Also, some skills can only appear in the second skill at high talisman grades, such as handicraft.

The skill level .TXT file is really for the program's use, but I might work on a new feature that displays the skill limits in the GUI.

Just to confirm, when it's labeled "Skill Limits" in the Changelog, that means we can't make anything that goes beyond what the game would consider legit correct?

I have the same question too. Went to mhg forums and read what people claim to be legit charm and tried to copy it in the system and yet the "skill limit" prompt. Tried changing the grade all the way and it still prompt "skill limit"

The skill limits in the change log indicate when the program will label a skill as over the maximum in-game value; when this happens, the skill level is changed to a red color and a message indicating the reason appears in the last "Message" column of the talisman list.
This function is intended to help you make talismans that are valid in-game, but it is only a suggestion! As noted in the change log skill limits are currently incomplete as I haven't the time to personally check each and every skill at every talisman grade, so it is quite possible that a valid talisman is being mislabeled as invalid.
What do you do? Nothing, just ignore the warning; the save function doesn't care and will store whatever talisman you make, however absurd the values are (you can save handicraft 99 if you wanted to, but of course the game rejects it).

Actually, you can do something...reply in this thread to let me know the valid talisman you created and I will updated the skill limits file.

PS. I'm not sure if I should say this but the above only applies to MHX/MHGen. For MH4G/MH4U the game actually doesn't check whether a talisman is valid and will allow anything you throw at it....whether or not this will get you banned online is unknown, however, so use at your own risk.

so i can "create" only legal talisman is right? for example i just tryed to make a evade dist 6 handicraft 5 3 slot...and i switched the rarity to 5(queen talisman) and the program says that is right.but even if it was rarity 6 and rarity 7 the program says is correct..so wich one i have to select? sorry bad english

ok thanks..if i have to create or modify a talisman i just want it to be inside the legal limit of the skill..and not create thing like +32 +32 11 slot..like i see in 4u

So am guessing the formula for legit talismans isnt the same as 4U? having a 14+ attack and a 6 handicraft isnt legal anymore?

I can't seem to create a new talisman from the system. Editing what talisman from game I have works but if I create a new talisman from scratch and load the game I cant find it in my box. I even tried copying a legit talisman which I get from the game itself and still no show. Did I do something wrong?

When you save after adding a new talisman it will show a popup window that tells you how many new talisman were created; was the number reported as expected?
If you load the edited save back into the editor, do you still see the new talisman?
In terms of location, new talisman are always created in the next empty slot in your equipment box, and depending on how your equipment is organized it may appear in a not so obvious position.
