I have had many 3ds over the years.. One with the hardware capture card which failed and the 3dscapture site were not helpful at all(hence why haven't purchased from again) any how this made me buy yet another n3dsxl and installed with alh9 cfw and ntr steaming. @cell9 is amazing and I hope he still continues the streaming app he mentioned

Been testing out NTR for me and I think the only way I can get a reliable framerate is to drop down to 65-75 quality. Which luckily is 'doable', but it would've been nice to be able to do more.

Is this likely because of my router (ie a bandwidth problem?)? I have a linksys WRT160N which supposedly has 300Mbit wireless but it's admittedly very old.

My computer shouldn't be an issue, 6700k + GTX 970.

Try this, when you are trying to stream don't connect yet, run MHG (its monster hunter right?) and wait till the game connects to the internet. Then when you connect to the ntr it should work. I feel like when you run the game, your 3ds disconnects from the internet for a bit and reconnects (samething with pokemon) that could be it!

The Wi-Fi at my house isn't all that great. Would I get better results if I buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter and have my n3DSXL be the only thing that connects to it? I'm just looking for a way to improve the framerate but just messing with the remoteplay() settings isn't enough. I just really want to know before I shell out the money to buy one.

Also, does the NTR viewer and NTR debugger need to be connected to said Wi-Fi adapter?

WUSB will only connect you to a host network, it won't give you a separate Wi-Fi to connect to if that's what you're after. You need either a USB Hotspot or another router if you want to create an additional wireless network in your house. A great alternative would be a powerline adapter to extend the range of your LAN.

Yes, your PC running NTR HAS to be on the same Network as your 3DS running NTR.

What do you mean by USB Hotspot? My Google searches give me guides on how to turn a USB Wi-Fi adapter into one. Is that what you mean? How does turning a Wi-Fi adapter into a hotspot work exactly?

I'm not very tech-savvy when it comes to stuff like Wi-Fi, sorry.

Does anyone know how to record sound from both Line-In port and microphone? I'm using OBS and I can only choose one source.
You could always use obs studio if you don't need to use the other obs. I've found it to have improved features.

Don't use OBS but what I used to do is go to Sound -> Line In -> Listen and enable 'Listen to This device' which basically makes it play through your general PC, if you do the same with your mic all you need to do is record the computer's sound at that point.

As an update, once it hit me that my wifi might've been capable of 150Mbit, but my Ethernet lines were only 100Mbit lines, I ordered a new router. Just installed a TL-WR1043ND and from a first test I can now go all the way to 90 and it MHG is playing smoothly with that. Less so when I try remoteplay() with both screens though, going to try and prioritize the main window, see what I can get. Worst case I'll do with 1 but both would be nice. I'll take a smooth main screen though :D

I managed to get it working with OBS. All I need is to edit some file and make the program record Line-In instead of PC sound. OBS Studio has an option to record from multiple audio sources but comes with the price of having no option to change text outline color.

I only got around 30 FPS from MHG with two screens and equal priority. Obviously, it's quite laggy compared to the 3DS screen. Can you try this setting remoteplay(priorityMode = 0, priorityFactor = 1, quality = 90, qosValue = 101) and tell me your MHG FPS at the beginning of the game?

Edit: FPS counter in NTRviewer is misleading. FPS is still around 30 with only the top screen but it's way smoother than both screens. I'd appreciate someone to upload a footage of MHG with my setting, so I can decide to get a better wifi router if the result is comparable to capture card.

Is it possible to stream while online in either mh4u or mhx/g?
What settings do you guys use?

Thanks!
Nothing special for MH. Just do remoteplay and start the game.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also I posted this in another thread, thought I might as well leave it here too;

Getting 35-40 fps in-game (tested in Luigi's Mansion 2, or Dark Moon for you muricans^^).

Recorded it here.

I used the following Remote play settings:
remoteplay(priorityMode = 0, priorityFactor = 5, quality = 90, qosValue = 101)

The 3DS is connected straight to the routers 2.4 band. N3DS clock speeds set to off in Luma settings.

I'm on a 120/120 fiber line with an AC68U router. This was played sitting right next to the router.
Recorded with OBS Studio in 1280x720@60 fps and 1500 kbps bitrate.

It seems that there is a small FPS increase by disabling the bottom screen, but I want to have it displayed, at least for games like Luigi's Mansion, so viewers also get to see the map etc.
Sorry for the length, enjoyed the game too much :3

Also...lol.

So I used to run this just fine, but now it keeps disconnecting. I haven't changed anything, just haven't used it in a while. Is it my router?

Never had this transport connection error before. I disabled the firewall too

That's normal, run the viewer after the ">disconnect()" and it should still work. It's just disconnecting from the debugger to give the NTR viewer priority over the Wi-Fi network for better connectivity. You only get that string when you use the "remoteplay()" argument for streaming. Otherwise, process dumps etc, don't force a disconnect. It's fine.

I know it stops when local wireless communication is on. Maybe you havs hunter search on? Or is that not in this game
