Hey all, I opened this Discord server a couple days ago. At first I published a discord invite link on my profile page, and it was kind of a bit of fun between about 8 people. Eventually, it has evolved and we have about 30 tempers joined now, and @Jackus and I have worked hard to make this the best place it could be. We were recently discussing whether to make a temp post on this, so here you go :3
#rules - For obvious reasons
#welcome - This chat is where unverified users talk until they wait to get verified
#talk - Talk about whatever you want here
#help - Ask for help on hacking, homebrew, or anything, really
#gaming - Talk about or set up games here
#music - Queue music on the music bot here, and talk about what music you like
#user-logs - Just a log on who's joined and left
#bot-testing - A place where you can test the various bots on the server
#spam - Spam all you like here! Remember that all rules still apply.
These chats are for members with a specific role.

To get access to the staff channels, well, you need to get staff
How does joining the server work?
Due to recent spam attacks, which we have stopped now :3, we have included a lot of security.
This is how you can join:
Why do I need to get verified :c
- PM me, a staff member of our server to get an invite link. If you wish to receive an invite link from a regular member in the group, they must first gain permission from us for you to receive that invite link.
- When you join, you will be dumped into the #welcome chat. You will have to read #rules before you get verified.
- PM me or a member of the staff of our server to verify that you are who you say you are and that you are in the #welcome chat.
As I said above, we got a lot of spam attacks a couple of days ago. We needed to up our security. We can't have anyone waltzing into our server and casually dropping a 10gb folder of porn.
Why should I join?
This is kind of a nice friendly private server, only available to those I know won't make this place cancer. Quite a few people said they've enjoyed it as it is as private as it is, and not as cancer as some of the other ones.

These mods were kinda selected by, whoever asked for it, got it, as long as they haven't received any warns yet. But these mods haven't failed to do good, and I trust them.
- No posting or posting links to porn/hentai (instant ban).
- No advertising. No links to or naming of roms/rom sites.
- No posting invite links outside of PMs.
- No spamming outside of the #spam chat.
- All rules apply in the #spam chat.
- Please keep the chats related to the chat they're in.
- Contact staff before sharing invite links.
- No arguing or questioning with admin decisions.
- No spamming the music bot.
- Breaking these rules will get you a warn or banned instantly.
- If you disobey these rules, I will be forced to ban you
This chat is quite exclusive to those who know me or the people in it. I'd like to keep it as friendly as possible.

Yeah, 80+ and counting, plus we've also had the same rules..We already have a pretty active discord with a bunch of members tho

I modded a server with 200+ people for a week, does that count? (Also one right now with 40 people)

the other people started joining and we all started basically edge of forum in discord all the time here, which is as much as i love to fuck around a bit i can't handle that stuff all the time, i'm someone that needs to seriously talk to people about actual stuff be it other people life events or stuff like that, hell i even love a good conversation about a game or anime but the amount of shitposting is overbearing in both groups
No offense or anything, but once I got in, it seemed a bit crowded. Was worth a shot, though.

Introducing a user cap of 40 to stop things getting too cancerous.
My server is a discord channel for tempers. Not a GBATemp Discord Channel. Plus I've heard people say its pretty bad and cancerous. I haven't tried it myself, however.We already have a pretty active discord with a bunch of members tho

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation. -

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero+1 -

but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there+1
