MBR can only assign up to 32bit sector number.
but if the partition starts at sector 63, and is 4096bytes/sector, maybe it can fit in MBR. I haven't done the calculus.

FAT32 can go up to 16TB
I still haven't install any cIOS on my vWii :P
I only have HBC. I'll have to install d2x to test it.

the path is now correctly set to USB, and you still don't see games?
Be sure you enabled gamecube games in the 4th icon on the top menu.
Be sure you set "Main+SD" in the settings>loader settings>gamecube source.

Why did you quote that message, is that related to your issue?
I don't understand this part:

I think you don't have a WBFS partition, as you posted a picture of a drive with a file system in it. So you have a FAT partition.
Format it to FAT32, not FAT or FAT16 or ExFAT.

Don't format to WBFS.

How do I format it like that? I've used Wii Backup manager to format to FAT32. But when I go to settings on GX Loader, the partition says in hdd settings: WBSF 495.95Gb. (its a 500gb hdd with a 2 gb game loaded- which it doesn't show)

if you formated to FAT32, clicking on the first option in the HDD settings should force a HDD remount and detect the partition as FAT32.
If it detects it as WBFS, there's an issue.

Is it possible to connect a HDD that requires two usb slots to power on? I do have a cable for it, I just want to know if the loader can manage it. More info:
- It's a 232 GB HDD USB 2.0
- It requires two usb slots to power on
- It has "imation" on it
- It does not work with only one in usb.

So I went on GX Loader:

HDD Settings > Game/Install Partition: WBFS
The drive is FAT32. So I think its detecting it as WBFS?

Yes, Y-cable are working fine.
Be sure to connect the Data cable to USB port0 (bottom on Wii, back-Top on WiiU), and the power cable on any other USB slot.
do not use a HUB for the data cable (in case you wanted to use one), connect the data cable directly to the console.

So I went on GX Loader:

HDD Settings > Game/Install Partition: WBFS

Something is wrong with your drive or your setting.
if it's FAT32, it should tell you it's FAT32
if it's WBFS, it should tell you it's WBFS
not mixing partition format, unless your tool you used to format the drive is bad. Try formating to FAT32 with this tool :
http://filetrip.net/dl?fXDErB67FG
(that's not the latest version, but it should work)

I tried your tool and it doesn't detect the D drive. I had a recent version of FAT32 GUI Formatter from ModMii and it shows this error message:

Sounds like with all the playing around with the drive one of the other programs is still running or hasn't released it properly.

Maybe try shutting your computer down, disconnect the drive, boot up, once in your OS plug the drive in, then once the drive is recognized run FAT32 GUI Formatter.

something is wrong with your setup, as it works for everyone else, we just can't see what it is...

First; let's check your hdd : does it work with nintendont launched directly from Homebrew channel ?
Don't use USBLoaderGX at all, and try nintendont. If it doesn't see the games, the issue is your drive setup or hardware.
if the games are found, they are correctly setup, and the issue is on the loader's settings.

1. I'm accidentally deleted cache_bnr and images folder (all 3000+ files !). I tried to redownload it again by pressing '1' but downloading sometimes freeze and i need to restart my wii. Is there a way for me to download all (i assume from gametdb) the covers, covers 3d, disc arts, channel banner etc from my computer and copy it to my usbloader gx folder ?

2. Can i download images, channel, discart for individual game instead of bulk download ?

1) you can go to gametdb, download section. there's a full cover pack you can download. Maybe there are different language, see which one you want, and you can overwrite some with a different language maybe.

2) not yet. sorry.

Hello,
I started out with only Nintendon't accessed via the homebrew channel in order to play GCN disc images on my WiiU vWii. Now I decided to install this USB loader, latest versions of everything as of today, and everything is working just fine, but only if I disable auto-boot for Nintendon't (which kindof defeats the whole purpose of the loader). The problem is that my memory card emulated saves, created with Nintendon't, seem to not be recognized if booted through USBloader. (The game will prompt me to create new save data in Slot A. if it is launched through USBloader, but not if I load it manually in Nintendon't. I had the settings for individual, 251 block memory card emulation.)
Any help with this strange issue would be splendid!

I have been using Usb loader gx now for years . I have noticed in the past few years for games have had issues when backing up my originals to my hdd . Last night it took 5 attempts to backup Just Dance 2016 NTSC . The other attempts failed by locking up at 32, 64 , 17 , 22 percent waiting 30minutes after each freeze until I was able to do a full backup . Is there a known bug ?
Other notes the game was brand new , the model of my Wii is the black edition . My hdd is ntfs . Any other info you need I can grab rev 1260 of usb loader .

it often freeze when using a flash drive instead of a real hdd.
but you said you have a hdd, so I don't know.

Try with IOS58 set to "loader's IOS" setting.
Try to dump the game with CleanRIP instead to see if it freezes too, or if it's related to USBLoaderGX only.

I had the settings for individual, 251 block memory card emulation
to you want one file per game or a big memory card with all games saves on the same one?
you might want to change that setting in the loader if you don't want a clean/new card for each game.

but only if I disable auto-boot for Nintendon't
autoboot doesn't work anymore? I didn't follow recent releases, maybe the nintendont setting version increased and the loader needs some updates.

I'm not really sure why I enabled the individual setting, to be honest. And yeah, autoboot still works, but my save games don't. It's odd.

Hello! is this topic still active? I was wondering if someone might help me with an issue I'm having...

From one day to the other, the Loader suddenly stopped working, when I load it it runs and everything, but all the disc covers are "?" and when i try selecting one the loader freezes (it doesnt even open the menu for game load, it just freezes)

I've tried installing different types of USB loader GX with no luck. Any ideas?

The Wii's laser might be going bad if it's only happened in the last few years. The Wiis are a bit cheaply made. Is it just with that drive and/or game or is it any game with any drive?
