Hey guys,

i run the a9lh installer with all the necessary files, but forgot to put my own otp.bin file (i had already the a9lh installed) into the a9lh folder. The installer run successfully, but my N3DS seems to be bricked now. :(
Is there anything i can do now? I the blue power light is on, but the two screen keep staying dark. It doesn't matter if i put a sd card in or not. I can't get into the recovery mode either.
Do i have a hardbrick?

Yep. Get a hardmod and flash a sysNAND backup.

I just don't get the part of firm0.bin / firm1.bin and secret partition, should I dump it? I guess it's with Decrypt9, just need to get that.

HELL NO! Do not dump your firm partitions. The "firm0.bin" and "firm1.bin" referred to are actually the decrypted NATIVE_FIRM 9.0 and 10.2 (respectively). You try to use firm partitions, you're likely to mess something up. ESPECIALLY DO NOT USE A "sector0x96.bin" DUMPED FROM GODMODE9 AS "secret_sector.bin" BECAUSE YOU WILL BRICK!

Use the "data_input.zip" from Plaillect's guide to get these files.

Need quick help because I'm stuck at something and I don't know why:

- By pressing X+Y it boots into Gateway Emunand now
- By pressing SELECT, it shows me the Luma 5.5 (dev) options but it stuck there forever and won't boot into Luma (already tried removing the config)
- By pressing START, Decrypt9 won't show up anymore (blackscreen)
- By pressing X+A, the n3DS instantly turn off again
- Want to add HBL on those buttons

Can anyone help me quick with this?

So spent the past 24 hours getting Luma set up. I got everything set up perfectly atm.

Not sure how many of you are aware of this, but 90GB worth of games takes a lot of time to install (sarcasm)

The process of getting A9LH went good with the most annoying part being my N3DS refusing to update to 11.0 and HB apps sitting on black screens during launch (sometimes had to retry over 15 times). Besides that, every actual process went straight through without any issues. Never had partial downgrades/upgrades.

As for loading speed with the 128gb SD card, I can't tell if there actually is any difference. It's running perfectly fine.

Where, oh where, are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?(since March 29th)
I searched the world over and I thought I'd found true love.
But you met another (buggy beta release) and pthhp! You was gone.

Edit (buggy beta leak), still no insight into actual testing results or expectations. After this release (assuming it is still in the cards), I hope they don't err they way they did with this buildup to release. 2 months, nary a informative update (video from GW would have been nice). Looks like they tripped on their own ambitions and are laying low until they actually have something that resembles a working release. Let's hope so. I predicted earlier (can't remember which thread), a mid June release but that looks dim given the lack of response from the team.

Edit: I don't know which I dread more, wondering how many more filler episodes I have to suffer through before Naruto Shippuuden actually comes to the end or wondering how much time will pass from first contact to the actual GW release.

can anyone edit the playload_stages to boot deafult to GW Launcher and with A/B/Y/X to boot to Luma3DS?

There's no need. Simply swap the names of payload_stage2.bin and payload_stage2_2.bin. You probably want to boot Luma with A (tends to be it's best boot key), so, just go with the A-B or A-START payload_stage1.bin file.

It has crossed my mind to put up some pre-made mega-configurations -- one using CFW as a default, and one using GW as a default. No GW launchers, CFW folders, or any of the files from "data_input.zip" though, for obvious reasons. This will only include boot managers, configuration files, main payload files for the CFWs and apps, and pre-configured stage payloads. Anything else needed is on you.

so rename payload_stage2.bin to payload_stage2_2.bin and payload_stage2_2.bin to payload_stage2.bin and run safea9lhinstaller? it will boot deafult to gw menu?

My current setup is A9LH + Luma 3DS on sysnand 11. My GW cart hasn't been used since A9LH came out. What do I do to make benefits out of this?

Tbh, sell it, imo. It's too early to mess with the alpha payload for GW.

Either that, keep it and wait till GW release their full A9lh payload and see how it affects current free open source exploits.

I finally got around to doing this. Much more easy and painless than I expected. Worked fine on both my N3DS XL and O3DS.

Is there any other notable addition to 4.0? Not happy that it doesn't block firm writes, wondering if I should stick with 3.7.1.

Thank you @liomajor for bringing my Gateway back to life after al9h! Got my N3DS booting Luma by default, so as not to screw up activating it's payloads, and GW on up. Super easy and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks also to @Kazuma77 and the rest of the thread for the great support!
