I upgraded to a N3DS awhile back and I am selling my O3DS. Before I do though I need to remove my NNID, but I cannot figure out how to do so. Will using tiny format/ formatting the system with A9LH work?

Or you can just dump nnidsave.bin, zero it out, then inject it.
I think this is a bad Idea as the nintendo servers need to be also noted of the unlink in case he is buying a new system at any point of time and he will not be able to link his account to new system unless he does it via the official method. I mean he IS selling his O3DS because he upgraded to N3DS.

Thanks for the replies. Just to clarify, will formatting the system have any effect on the A9LH? and should I take my SD card out before the format?

Are you trying to keep the games? Because any formatting those are gone. Doing the format from settings won't touch a9lh at all. The only stuff it touches on the sd card is the Nintendo 3ds folder and the cfw stops a9lh from getting removed. You will need to do the format from settings to be able to use the nnid on another system.

I see. Yeah, that makes sense now. I will format through system settings. I don't mind if I lose the games. I can just reinstall them (they're not from the eshop).

Format is not format it will not do anything to the FW just the user data.
You WANT to do the format from system settings tiny format only inits your data (people want to use tinyformat on sysnand when setting up emunand so their emunand still is all fine and checks out since it was not unlinked in official system format tool)

Do official system format; everything will be fine it only touches your user data, and connects to internet to only unlink your NNID when formatted. The system format also ONLY wipes the Nintendo 3DS folder contents for your particular console/NAND (in case you had multiple setup) as far as I remember, I done this a little bit when doing multitude of softmods etc. for friends and myself.

I think something screwed up. After formatted through system settings, I setup the console, but everything was gone. I reinstalled FBI using decrypt9 over the Health and Safety. My question is now, how do I delete the games from the sd card? They are taking up a lot of room on the SD card. I was hoping they would show up in FBI under titles and I could delete them, but they are not there.

Delete the corresponding folder in the Nintendo 3DS folder.
But why not just system transfer to your n3DS so you can keep your NNID and friend code/list? Though it's too late for that now.

I made a new NNID for my N3DS. The N3DS is already setup. All I want to do is have my O3DS with a clean A9LH install (without my old NNID) so I can sell it.

I deleted the folders in the nintendo 3ds root of my SD card. That did the trick. Thanks everyone for helping me.
