Luma can boot emuNAND and sysNAND, just check your configurations and see if you are autobooting into sysNAND, if not, you're using emuNAND, if yes, you might have one, but you aren't using it by default.

If you don't have an emuNAND, just copy files and call a day.
If you have emuNAND, backup it on the old SD card, format the new SD card with emuNAND9 and inject the emuNAND on it, after that, copy the files.

So, I recently went from Gateway to Luma. I got a9lh and all that. Once I got to part 4 I used my emunand instead of the rednand that I used to get a9lh, so I could have all my stuff on my new a9lh cfw.
I should preface the next part by saying I have a New 3ds, JP, on latest firmware.
A9lh was working great, I was trying out different stuff, and one of the things that didn't work with Gateway I decided to try with Luma. Snes VC from the US. Everytime I booted it on Gateway it would show up normal on the bottom screen, albeit frozen and in Japanese, the top screen would be black, and it would just be frozen until a hard reset.
With Luma, I launched the snes game, and it did the same thing. It froze. But, then, it kicked me out of the game, popped up something in Japanese which I assume was just the typical "An error has occured" then when I pressed A it rebooted. After rebooting it had done the same process a linked sysnand and emunand would do, where the theme is gone, and everything is kicked out of the folders and wrapped up.
I've cleaned the mess up but am wondering if I could get any info on what could be going on. I am sure that I deleted the emunand out after setting the system nand up properly, like the guide says.

have you tried the region/language emulation feature of Luma? That could possibly get the VC game to work. Check the wiki for info. As far as why it caused that other issue...I'm not sure unless it has something to do with starting an out of region game and having it crash like that. I've never had that happen to me though, so it's hard to say.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that using NTR back when i had GW made them work, but I had to make a specific folder for each game each time and it was a pain.
Is there a way to have Luma just auto-patch everything for english?

All of the SNES VC titles are apparently RF. But they are also all seed encrypted. You can either cryptofix them in Decrypt9 by moving them to the "Decrypt9" folder and using "Game Decryptor Options" and "CIA Decryptor (CXI only)". Or you can select the title with the latest FBI's "Titles" menu and it should give you the option to install the seed data. The latter's slightly easier, but the former might be preferable if you have multiple systems and just want it to be good-to-go on the rest.

Though if you want to play them in a language besides Japanese, with it being a Japanese system, you might want to use the region emulation feature as well.

you have to put cia in the d9game folder. not decrypt9 folder. if u do not have it create new folder and rename to "D9game" w/o quotations.

Actually, that's just where it looks first. It will fall back on "Decrypt9" if it doesn't find the "D9Game" folder. Just depends on how you want to organize things.

OK, I'll send you my menu and you can try it. This has GW as first option, and the default. You'll need to change it to Luma if that's what you want it to default to. It's easy though. I can't guarantee it will help, but the last person I sent it to said it worked good for them.

I never solved the problem entire.

But after studying and understading. And trying to figure out what you meaning about boot manager.

I understood the Boot.3dsx was redirecting me to "Luma3DS.3dsx" into "luma" folder.

I i thought about update "luma" but was putting files wrong place. So i update " luma/Luma3DS.3dsx and get better boot. But failing sometimes.

So i got Luma3DS.3dsx rename to boot.3dsx and replace it. Now i dont have bootmanager anymore, but boot better then before.

I did understand much about boot.3dsx, boot manager, ctr etc etc, because my NEW its A9Lh.

So i was kind lost. Even searching and reading, it to much thing wrote here and there to understand. But finally it's boot better now.

Even the "menuhax" now boot much better, but for that i setup custom screen and change payload. So no more failure boots anymore, not with frequency.

Sorry for my bad english!!! And thank you so much for trying to help me.

How do I delete a black icon that only appears in Luma3DS??? If I boot into ReiNand the black icon does not appears but in Luma wants me to unwrap it every time...

Thanks in advance!

PS: I never touched any Virtual Console or GBA stuff if that helps, the only thing I've did aside installing CIA's is to inject FBI to my H&S as everybody though... so don't know if that may be the cause because I've read that it could be FBI fault...

Thanks in advance.

No problem. Actually, boot.3dsx was the Homebrew Menu. That has a low boot rate with CFWs. However, replacing it completely breaks the ability to run the Homebrew Menu. It's best not to change that, but the MenuHax payload itself. So, to get MenuHax's rate up, you setup a boot screen and you're using the 2.1 payload, right? Definitely a good idea. If you open the "ropbinpayload_menuhax_*.bin" file with a hex editor, and search for "boot.3dsx" you can change it to run something else, like "auto.3dsx" instead. That way you can keep your Homebrew Menu, and have MenuHax run something else, like a boot manager. Most boot managers like CTR Boot Manager come as a "boot.3dsx" but you can easily just rename them to "auto.3dsx" instead.

If you want to upload your "ropbin_menuhax_*.bin" file, I can edit it for you. I'll be sure to include a pre-configured "auto.3dsx" boot manager, and the latest Luma and Gridlauncher HB Menu when I send it back. This boot manager loads the .dat files directly, so, it will still boot well, while giving you options. Actually, I can do BootCTR (hotkeys) or CBM (menu), whichever your prefer.

You should keep trying to convince your friend to install A9LH, though. It's been perfectly safe for almost 2 months now. We even have GW working alongside CFW now.

It's probably something you installed to NAND by mistake with an old version of FBI. You should be able to remove it by looking through the "Titles" menu in FBI. Everything installed to CTRNAND will be listed in red. If you see something with a Title ID that starts with 00040000, that's probably the one. If the ID starts with that, that identifies it as a game/app. Which means it's not part of the OS. So, it should be safe to remove it (but backup your NAND, just in case something goes wrong).

Failing that, try installing the FBI CIA, then restoring your H&S app. I'd never leave FBI injected. An altered system title seems like something Nintendo could easily detect if they wanted to. If I need something that can survive a format, I install NAND Dev Menu.

Except the game was cryptofixed and launched fine

Had a9lhax running fine with luma. Decided to update Luma using the luma update on the home menu. After the update I get a blank screen. Anyone know why this happened and how to get back?
