Eshop or Thirdparty, regardless Nintendo still has your IP. The only difference is with Eshop Nintendo has your NNID as well as your IP, which means they know that you never bought the game, since no transaction exists on your NNID, which means at some point all those people with those NNID's stealing from Nintendo with fake tickets will all get banned. With third party App like CIAAngel you are still stealing from Nintendo, but you are doing it through the backdoor, without exposing your NNID, which means they have nothing to ban.

Downside is third party apps are seriously, slow, I mean like George Foreman vs Manny Pacquiao slow. CiaAngel is so slow, in the time it takes to download and insall a CIA you could have already finished the game, played a game of basketball with Kim Jong Un, and watched an episode of Game of Thrones. Literally, its that slow.

So the choice is yours. You literally download the same game via Mega or GDrive from an iso site, move it onto your 3DS, install it, finish it, all in the same time it takes to install the game via a thirdparty grabber app.

Installing from EShop using a fake ticket is much faster than using third party grabber tools like Cia Angel, but its damn risky, like going to Romania without condoms risky.
Your call.

Hope that clears things up. For me I use old fashioned Iso site, where you can download a game in seconds, install it and play it in no time. I would steal straight from Nintendo like @Davidosky99, but I'm not from Porto, so I ain't got the ballz. By the way, Porto is a beautiful city, great seafood.

Yes it is a nice city indeed. I just don't care. The max they can't do is ban me. And I couldn't care less. Downloading speeds here are awful so downloading from Nintendo servers is the best option rather from the that iso site links wich takes a long time

i just stick w/ torrents.. there's a site that's always updated w/ 3ds games. this causes me to do conversions and what not, but i prefer that option to get the most out of my download speeds (their seeding is top notch)

If you add up download, convert, transfer to SD, and install, do you really end up saving any time over direct install from CDN?

> Open FBI, scan the QR code
> Select install from CDN

And that's it. Nothing to worry about. Nintendo will never be able to ban you with this method. This discussion is pointless.

Also, don't know why people even mention CIAngel when FBI is much better.

Depends on that "thirdparty grabber app". Some of them install the game while downloading it. So instead of having a download time, a copy time, and an install time, you only have a all-in-one time that is just as long as the slowest of the three aforementioned times.

Built in search, no having to use a PC, standalone system for installing games. Not quite sure how FBI is "much better" since it has a different use case.

because ciaangel cuts out the first and fourth (qr code) steps?

Color me dumb, I never knew CIAngel could directly install CIA files without downloading the entire CIA file then using FBI to install. Just saw the R/L wording at the bottom.

True CIA Angel does do direct install. But you're still limited to max download speed of the system, which is like 600kps or some such.
Try installing a 4GB game using Cia Angel, and you'll see the dilemma.

It's still much faster to download off of Gdrive or Mega. Gdrive can easily hit like 8megs per second, which makes large games a breeze.

Installing off of Nintendo server is nice and easy, but its just way too slow. Even when using Eshop it's still like 10-20x slower than Gdrive or Mega.

It isn't. CiaAngel is probably the best thirdparty grabber out there. Good job.

no, i believe i stated that in my post...

edit: also not trying to down talk any other process (besides those filesharing throttling sites lol), just speaking on my own preference

But what's the point in getting the most out of your download speeds if overall it ends up taking longer? Download speed isn't the bottleneck when installing CIAs, it's installing (writing the content) that is.

that's true it's just my preferred method if not the most logical.. i like to get back ups too & i can give back to others who use the same option.. waiting for .cia to install is a pain but i just bulk install when i go to sleep lol

Ah that makes sense :) Your original post made it sound like you were saying it was faster overall, my bad
