on the first link i saw - "Anyone hoping for advancements for the PS Vita scene you can blame this guy on why because i am no longer sharing anything."
not sure what that means, but doesn't sound good :(

Wasn't too happy to see that either.

According to another user, an end-user tool is expected to come very shortly (via PS4 Playground).
Cool, I cant wait to try this out. Currently (other then making those html's) i dont know where to start with this, but I am looking forward to guides being written.

Shame about the Vita though. You'd think that the PSP2 would get a bit more love from both the creator and hackers,

Hey guys, if you want to make sure your PS4 doesn't update, just go to Settings and I believe system info (? it's near the bottom of the list), and navigate your way towards sofware updates, and uncheck both boxes for downloading and installing software updates. Also, keep in mind that all games released in the future may prompt you to install the latest firmware (> 3.50) if a firmware update past 3.50 is ever released. To my knowledge, there is no way to prevent that pop up from coming up, but just ignore it and you should be fine. But yeah, you should still be able to use your PS4 as normal as long as you make sure that the PS4 doesnt auto download/install new software updates.

It looks like the PS4 Hacking Scene is looking bright!
Yeah, I am really excited about it! Make me want to buy a PS4 to see the great mods that could happen!

In general, I am excited about the hacks for probably the oddest reasons ever:
  1. Since it can run Linux x86, It would be a great secondary computer to have at home since my main computer is in the dorms.
  2. I would not have to buy an external Blu-ray drive, I could use the makemkv on Linux to extract Blu-ray movies if the PS4 blueray drive is usable on Linux (I even heard that the PS4 can read 4K blue-rays)
And then there are other normal reasons like a cheat engine for offline hacking, a disk dumper (or something like DDD for modders), a caffeine like utility for the PS4, and an emunand method.
Overall, I am mostly excited! (A little sad that the hacks are now known before the release of the PS4.5)

But yeah, you should still be able to use your PS4 as normal as long as you make sure that the PS4 doesnt auto download/install new software updates.
So it is basically not like the Wii U where Nintendo tries to force updates down your throat?
