Title says it all.

The R4 is the most AMAZING flashcart I've ever owned. Period. Their level of support & updates (cheats) has been a very welcome change. I hope they support it for a long time to come.

One of the biggest complaints I'd heard about the R4 before buying it was that the microsd reader that came with it sucks. The newer revision supposedly fixed this, but apparently not.

My see-through black-colored MicroSD reader just died out on me. I got the R4 from Winsunx a while back so I don't think I have any support options. I mean, granted, I can use the micro sd > SD card adapter, but it sucks! I loved the MicroSD reader

R4 is a great card indeed. Luckily my readers haven't died on me (I've had most of them - clear blue, clear black, the shiny one)

I've had that one for a while now and it's still working fine. Like the previous poster said It's only a few extra bucks so you could get one of those readers that can read multiple types of cards.

I wasn't all that impressed with the one I got. No indication of manufacturer, no clear indication about which way the Micro SD fits into it, and neither way wanted to work without significant force. I ended up using the Kingston Micro SD to SD adapter that comes with the R4 along with a Kingston TravelLite SD to USB adapter that I got a few months ago with an SD card for a digital camera.

The R4 MicroSD reader is more like an added bundle bonus, you can survive without it seriously. Just get those decent Card Reader from any electronic hardware store morever its darn cheap and much more reliable that having to worry your R4 reader crap out on you.

This is strange to me. My experience was the other way around.

The SD adapter that came with with the Kingston seemed to freeze up my PC.

The micro SD USB that came with the R4 worked like a charm.

Maybe mines different or something.

I have the old blue reader and have had no problems so far. I always use it when writing to a microsd card. I always thought the new ones were meant to be better. It is a freebie though, so if it works its a bonus

My reader heats up my micro-SDs like a microwave. It's a crap shoot with them. As others have said, don't depend on getting a good one and be prepared to go out and buy a commercial one.

I just got my R4 with the sliver reader. Works great on it's own, but if I leave it pluged in and try to plug another reader into the usb port next to it, my PC won't detect the new reader until I remove the siler micro SD reader... Strange, but it's not been a big deal yet.
