Hello there. I'm currently running RXtools on sysnand 9.2.0.20e and emunand 11.0.0-33e on an o3ds. I'm autobooting into the cfw by holding the L button on boot. Is it worth me changing cfw to luma3ds?
If so what benefits will it have?

SO! I now have a powersaves, OoT physical cartridge, and powersaves software up and running. I am doing a test run on an O3DS, running 10.7, but my New 3DS XL is still on 10.2. should i update my New 3DS to 11.0, since OOTHax still works on 11, or will I be fine doing it on 10.2? Thanks for the help guys!!

As far as I know 11.0 locks you out of downgrading as well as makes launching the exploit very unreliable to launch.

So no, don't upgrade. I would say get CFW set up if you want more reliable access to the Homebrew Channel and want to play online as well.

Use this guide if you decide to go down that path: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki

If you don't want A9LH, and want only rednand+menuhax, just stop at Part 4 Section I step 28. That way, you have FBI on your emuNAND/RedNAND. The FBI injected is just used to have an entry to install your initial .cia manager, so just install DevMenu//BBM through it after that and use that for your .cias installs, and you can keep the inject FBI as backup on your emuNAND//RedNAND.

Though I suggest you just do the whole guide.

Awesome!! Thank you so much! I am so new to this, and I finally think I have all of the necessary pieces! So just to be clear, (Sorry, n00b..) I CAN use the most recent OoTHax Raw save file on my N3DS 10.2?

Pretty sure you'll need a different payload save file installed for a N3DS, than the one used for your old3DS.
You could use this video as a visual guide:

Though I've only ever used oot3dhax while already having access to Homebrew, even though I have a Powersaves.

I guess I should ask it here what is the most barebones but compatible way to run ds ROMs on my 3ds
P.S. I live in Canada

I am trying to install CFW, and run backups. I would like to be able to play online so that's why I'm looking to update if I have to, however I am planning on downgrading to 9.2. Is it customary to update your fw once you've downgraded and are running cfw? or do most just stay on 9.2 and use patches for online?

I successfully got the homebrew launcher running on the Old 3ds!!! So happy lol Now for the hard part...

When you downgrade to 9.2, you create an emunand.
That emunand is what you'll update to the latest firmware, so you will have a sysnand (sysnand is your stock firmware/system) on 9.2 and an emunand (emunand is... like a copy of your sysnand but with some patches that let you make do things like regionfree or run unsigned cias depending on the CFW you uses to boot this emunand) on 11.0.
The emunand is what you'll use to go online and is where you'll be installing most of the games.

If you choose to install a9lh too, you can do all of that directly on your sysnand

Wow, that makes so much more sense... I've been reading anything I can find on this but never had it broken down like that. Thank you.
So, this is the downgrade guide I was planning on using, should it work for both the O3DS and the N3DS?

Oh right, perfect! I have so many tabs open I am getting lost in my own browser... Thank you guys so much, this has been far more complicated that I previously thought and It really helps to have people respond. Instead of just google. Modding my Wii wasn't this hard, but that's a process that is much older and not ever changing.

One FINAL question (hopefully) at what point in the process will I be able to change the save data on the OoT3DHax cart to the New3DS save data. I am starting with the Old 3DS. Or would It be best to just wait until the Old 3DS is completely done, and then do it from the start with the New 3DS?

Basically at the end of the guide, as you'll have access to the Homebrew Launcher directly on your old3DS homescreen, and will just be able to use that to inject the correct save payload for your new3DS.

Though pretty sure you'll need to still use Powersaves to install the old3ds 9.2 save payload onto OOT once you've successfully downgraded your old3ds.

Ok. I have the powersaves, so as long as it doesn't give me problems, I should be able to switch back and forth. but maybe I do want to just wait and complete the o3DS first, then do the new one... Also, how important is a 32K cluster in the microSD of the New 3DS? I copied the files on the stock one to a fat32 16GB microSD, but I'm not sure I used 32K cluster. It recognizes the card and all seems well, but is it something that could potentially come back to bite me?

Don't think so, anyways the guide makes you format using emunand9 eventually.

Though if you want to be safe, you could go ahead and format it to 32K cluster size from the get go.

I posted this in the thread @Temptress Cerise linked me to a few minutes ago but I am looking to order now so yeah lol basically is it safe to select the "Honkong air shipping (no tracking)" to Canada and I'm asking because that's the only free one and in case you need to know it's the 8 dollar usd R4 (this is on ndscard.com )

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia.
