I know this topic is all over the forum, but I couldnt find anyone who had a G6 flash cart. I have one and (like others) when I save and try to relaod it, it says my save file has been corrupted. Any help is appreciated.

I did it in safe mode (that was the only way it would write), but i also trimed it I don't know if that will affect the save thing or not.

Ok, this is weird. When I delete the ROM from the cart and then rewrite it, it still acts like i have played it before. When I rewrite it, the first time i boot it up it says save file has been erased due to corruption. It's weird because the first time i wrote it on the cart it didn't say that until after I tried to save....

i believe you have to update your firmware
put the loader and verify into the root dir
Switch to GBA MODE THEN PRESS A+B+START+SELECT when you see the green words

and update after

The firmware is the problem for sure, I had version 1.0 and it whitescreened on me, no matter how I tried flashing the rom.
I updated the firmware to the latest version and now it runs and saves fine.

To update the firmware you have to download the latest installation package from here: http://www.handheldsources.com/Download.html

Unzip it and look in the G6 Loader directory, choose the correct language for your G6 and copy the two sys files to the root of the card, and do the AB select start combination.

Note: You MUST use the correct language, otherwise it won't update.
Btw, did anyone manage to hack the english firmware to allow it to be flashed onto chinese carts? I miss my 1.0 english menu

Where is the G6 loader directory and then how do you copy the two syst. files to the root of the card and to the AB select start combination? that all seems foreign to me. I don't normally deal with the insides of a program.

Along with English & Chinese versions of 'G6 installation guide.txt'. The file was actually easy to understand, especially taking into account the levels of broken English typically found with these products. The \PC software folder contained a single setup file executable, while the \loader folder had Chinese & English versions of the loader - 'g6loader.sys' & 'g6verify.sys' coupled with 'G6 Loader (date).txt' which explains how to update the loader. The \Extension folder contained \BACKING, \EMU & \PDA - and they were the same versions as the ones already contained on the G6/L by default, so I left them alone. I installed the PC software with a few clicks, and followed the included instructions for updating my loader to the latest version. Both operations took a few seconds, and worked exactly as described.

With the software installed and the loader up-to-date, I felt much better about the lack of documentation/software in the box. I personally like to download the drivers/software from the internet, since it ensures that I will be getting the most up to date version, but instructions on the use of the products various features still would have been a small blessing.

QUOTEUpdating your G6 Lite Loader
1. Connect your G6 onto the UBurner and insert into your USB Slot.
2. Copy the g6loader.sys and g6verify.sys files to your G6's root directory.
3. Safely remove the UBurner from your PC and insert the G6 Lite into your DS.
4. Boot your G6 Lite in GBA Mode.
5. When the disclaimer in green text appears, hold down A + B + Select + Start.
6. Select Yes.
7. Allow it to update (do not power down your DS).
8. When you reach the G6 GBA Main Menu, you are done. You may delete the 2 sys files if desired.

enjoy
