This is probably a pretty annoying question when it comes to this thread, but I was wondering if anyone could PM me about this stuff? Unfortunately for me, I downloaded Band Bros P expecting there to be unlockable songs but uh, yeah. 6ish songs isn't a lot.

I'm usually pretty decent when it comes to using utilities for homebrew purposes, but this just goes over my head.

This pretty much lets you inject songs into your games exdata from .bbp files, just to be clear, right? .-.

Well, assuming .bbp files aren't Warez, can someone like, link to me to a huge folder of them or something?

I really hope someone can help though. ;u; I love the game, but this is just a pain.

Edit: Well, I tried using the importer, on 3ds, (the 3dsx) and after I go to play a song before the list pops up I get an error and it tells me to push the home button. Wat do?

Well, after having that issue, instead of importing all of them, I just imported one after deleting my exdata. Any time I hover over the song though it gives me the error I mentioned previously. I really can't figure this out.

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I bricked my New 3DS and got disenchanted from participating in the development scene, but I'm back! After about a year away, tools have been developed that helped me get my 3DS back to working.

NightsOwl, what method are you using to play Band Bros P? I know that Degausser has been developed to modify the Gateway save file. If you're not using a Gateway, then your results may vary. I decided to try out AuReiNAND using arm9loaderhax and the first game I installed was Daigasso Band Brothers P. When using Degausser, I am getting the same messages that you're describing. I don't know if this is something that can be fixed in a future version of Degausser, but it appears that this method is not working.

I also stopped participating in this thread before Degausser came out for modifying Gateway save files, so this could just be an assumption. I'm really excited to be back and get back into playing!

Well, I haven't done any Degausser development in a while (indeed, I haven't touched my 3ds in weeks), but I'm still kind of curious about the error.

Off the top of my head, here's a number of things I can think of:
  • Degausser modifies only the extdata rather than the save, so in theory it doesn't matter if you use gateway or even just regular sysnand. (I use rxtools myself instead of gateway)
  • I was wondering if there was a newer update than the v2.1 one, but there doesn't appear to be one. Unless it's a reverse thing and you guys are using v1.0 instead.
  • Degausser (the PC/.NET version) is much more tested, and as far as I can tell shouldn't give any problems. Have you tried an older version in case?
  • degausser3ds (3ds homebrew) is less tested, though basic importing doesn't have any problems I know of. Perhaps a newer *hax uses some different extdata saving conventions (e.g. I recall some dodgy stuff about not being to change a filesize in extdata; you have to delete and create a new one or something)?
  • In either case, does an older version work?
  • Does exporting work?

Wow. I must had missed the notification for this thread. Umm anyway, so far I have no issue using the 3dsx version. Maybe because I already have a large list of songs and only use it to write a couple of new songs into extdata.

If you guys could try, after importing, start up the game and while it showing the Nintendo 3DS splash screen press and hold A+B+Y+X. Soon the game will ask to check the data for any errors. Select yes and let it do it's thing. It may fix the issue or the worst it can do is delete the songs you imported.

If anybody wondering if I have new songs to share, well I haven't been keeping up with the store. I will download more song since I still got two 100 tomatoes codes to redeem! lol

The issue has been resolved! Thanks!

I ended up creating a test song to see if I could export. Worked perfectly. Then I imported a handful of songs and booted holding A+B+Y+X. That seems to have done the trick.

You should check if the tomatoes codes has expired or not. I think the codes that comes with the physical copy of the game expired some time ago...

Crap, really? Well I'll try it the beginning of next month so if the code still works I can get a full 5 months to spend them.

I just redeemed 100 tomatoes from a physical copy of the game at the beginning of this month without issue. You should be fine. I think chemistryfreak may be confusing the fact that tomatoes expire after redemption with that fact.

Well, I did what you asked, but unfortunately it asks to delete every single song I've imported. I've tried saying "yes" to the first message, but deleting every song seemed pointless, so I didn't go through with that. It still spits an error when it goes over an imported song.

To restore/import the extdata select SD and follow instruction.

that was actually the first game i recorded with the preview 1, havent tried with the preview 2, but i bet it gets better frame rate.
Yeah, I saw your post and also tried preview 1 myself. Didn't think it was worth mentioning here since the frame rate wasn't good. Preview 2 is so much better. Looking forward to the final version.
