Because the series isn't called Phoenix Wright... It's called Ace Attorney... Not to mention the Japanese title isn't "Ryuuchi Naruhodo" it's Gyakuten Saiban, which means something along the lines of Turnabout/Revival/Comeback Courtroom.

Phoenix Wright IS in the 4th game... he's just not a playable character. In fact, he's who you're defending in the 1st case of the new game.
I never got around to playing any of the phoenix wright games so this would be cool for me...

If anyone is wondering...the so called "updated-to-DS-quality" soundtracks for Gyakuten Saiban 3 is not actually updated at all. If you listen and compare, you will notice that the Gameboy sounds are still playing. They have not updated the instrument table yet.
But I really hope there is some sign of GS3 coming stateside.

Does anyone have any idea what the unlockables in this are? I've noticed that each time you read a new entry on something, it adds to your total completion. Would it be worth my time to click through all the entries even though I can't understand them in the event that some cool stuff pops up?
At the moment I've unlocked 94% of the contents and I don't know what the other 6% are, I've clicked every red text and checked every available entry that I found.
The features I've unlocked are:
- Cases intro viewer.
- Credits viewer (yay, the credits for the extra case of Gyakuten Saiban 1 DS is interactive like the original)
- Witness rage attacks viewer.

"By completing 30% of the game, you'll unlock an interesting option that
allows you to see the introduction sequence of the cases available in the
four previous games ("Gyakuten Saiban" 1, 2, 3 and the NDS version of
the first game). All of those come with improved sound, graphics and
animations, which is rather nice.
By completing 60% of this game, you will be able to see the ending
sequence of each of the four previous games, done by acessing the second
option from this menu.
Upon completing 90% of the game, you'll unlock a option which allows you
to see the "bad" animation of most characters,the one that is usually
shown when their crimes have been discovered. You can press the big button
to reset the animation and the arrows to change to a new one, but that's
all you can do.
When you (finally) get to 100%, the last option will be unveiled. By using
it, you are able to see every special scene contained in the four games,
the rare, anime-like, images which usually show how a crime went or depict
important scenes that during the case."
