Edit: Huh, I seem to be unable to update Colors! 3D. I just installed a USA CIA of it and am trying to update via the home menu, does this have something to do with the update?

Eh. I mean I can understand where you're coming from with this as I can't say it's been enjoyable for me either, but it's like you still got to understand it from Nintendo's perspective. They're a company in the business of making money. No wonder they're cracking down on homebrew and kernel exploits. If they were fine with giving their products away, they might was well slap a free price tag on their boxes with the words "please buy me I'm free" on it.

As said above, Nintendo would lose money if they didn't patch homebrew, so it's justified. What makes me laugh, is that they didn't update NATIVE_FIRM, thereby allowing 10.6 to 10.2 NATIVE_FIRM via hardmod still.
As i said, they're in their right. Protecting their products is a priority as a company, you know.
i'm OK with that. but sometimes been over protective cause more people to keep making homebrew and stuff.
Er..I just ran it (I already had the CIA installed). It didn't need anything else (but my 3DS is always connected to wifi, so if it downloaded a new payload, it took care of that automatically).
Of course, that's the bread and butter of homebrew, it's a constant arms race between the company and the homebrewers, but leaving the thing unprotected is just as dumb.
sorry if was asked before, lets say i dont update (due to getting errors atm.) and if i play an online game, will it work? will it not download the update via the background (unless i put the ds in sleep mode yes)? i wouldnt want to have the update nag! (once i had it but fixed it with d9).
