That's assuming they're not using a just-in-time manufacturing model. Nintendo are a Japanese company I wouldn't put it past them.

I haven't gotten the console, but do have the games.

Is it still possible to get IPS displays? I read they only appeared on western consoles because of a production error which has been sorted. So wouldn't all new 3DS consoles have TN displays now?
Any chance you could post your S/N on the back of your console for comparative reasons?I got mine an hour ago its in 10.3 firmware i can confirm this with the us version ill post pics later too bad i got tn Screen

I'll be doing 2 in about 10-15 minutes after I get all set up. I don't see any reason they can't be. It's just a plastic shell over a normal N3DS. I'll let you know how it goes. Worst case is a frankenfirmware you need to fix with CN/OOT.

Originally I followed the tutorial in the Tutorial and FAQ section. Though now I kind of do my own since most of the time SafeSysUpdater tends to soft-brick/frankenfirm a lot.
Edit: Though it looks like the browser is stubbed on these units as it requests an update to connect via Browser.
