What version are you using? Don't say latest or 3.0. I'm looking for the rev number like 1260. You can find that in the lower left of the screen when the loader starts up or in the about page under settings.

Next, are you using a USB flash drive or a USB hard drive. If it's a hard drive, is it USB powered or externally powered (do you have to plug a power cord into a wall outlet)?

Finally, are you on a Wii or Wii U?

Once you answer these questions we can help narrow down the problem and try to help you out.

Sorry it took so long. I just tried that game you were having issues with. Liight. I tried loading it up using emunand cios emulation and that didn't work. But I think you already knew that. I then tried neek2o and it worked. I thought it froze at the initial loading screen because it stayed there saying loading for a very long time. I was just about to unplug my Wii U when it suddenly started working. I played through the first 10 levels or so and didn't see any issues. Is there anything else you'd like for me to try for you?

It sounds like it's freezing completely. It's probably the flash drive. If you have a decent sized SD card you can use CleanRip to back it up to that and copy it over on your PC. Or switch to a fixed disk.
Excuse my ignorance I'm really new to Wii hacking, but isn't the limit for a Wii SD card 2GB?

For older games and system menu versions, yes, but I think it's 32GB for homebrew and SM 4.3. I use a 16GB SDHC as a maintenance card and running CleanRip. (It has MMM, WiiExplorer, etc. on it. I don't need those for regular use. :))

Sounds like it's the USB flash drive at fault. I don't know why those always seem to fail whereas USB hard drives always seem to work. I haven't used cleanrip but I think if you use that method you are going to have to rename the file and folder yourself when it is done. How big is your flash drive and how many Wii games do you own that you are trying to backup?

Yes, some USB drives don't work. If you can afford it, get a 16GB Kingston USB (the metal one, no cover on usb and rounded back with a hole for a way to wear it), as these work fine. My SanDisk 32GB, however, will not work.

UK link for a Kingston 16GB DataTraveler USB: https://mobymemory.com/uk/kingston-...kW6QsojmApiFvgO_3Wyp5FsztbdM5FISRYaAgdF8P8HAQ

I wonder if flash compatibility depends on whether the drive can operate as a fixed disk or not? I don't see any information on whether that Kingston one can do that or not...

So I guess there hasn't been any new updates for a while?

Anyway, I need to ask a noobie question, is it possible to delete the save data of a game stored on EmuNand via USB Loader GX? If not, is it possible to add such a feature in a future update? Thank you!

Not in the loader but Save Game Manager GX will do it if it doesn't lock up. :P

Except the current version of Save Game Manager GX seems to delete the entire game instead and updates are very slow, I kinda lost the older version by accident which sucks because most VC titles have auto save features when turned off :P

Yeah the latest version seems to have some problems. It freezes after deleting about 2 or 3 saves when I use it. It seems to have something to do with that scrolling banner warning at the bottom of the dialog.

Honestly as much as I like Save Game Manager I've always felt it was buggy since reading icons was implemented, always crashes after a few deletes or copies, but I need it if I want to delete saves off EmuNAND, that's why I asked if it's possible to be done here.

Just a thought as I haven't tried this out myself. But what if you launched your emunand in neek and then deleted the game save like you normally would through the system menu?
That won't work because EmuNAND is much slower than real NAND and in order to properly load it "or so I was told" you need to have no more than 4-5 channels installed, now I have a huge collection of games installed on EmuNAND and I could never manage to boot it because of this, always black screens, Cyan told me it's because I got many channels installed and that it's normal this way, I only use it to run games via USB Loader GX and it works fine for that matter!

Yeah, the system menu is really bad at enumerating its filesystem. It shows how much faster NAND is than a HDD, too. :)

Ok. Another idea and again I haven't tried this out. What if you copied your emunand to your computer and tried loading it up in showmiiwads. There's an option called showmiinand that will allow you to see the contents of your nand. Not really sure where the save game files would be or how it would be labeled but maybe by using that program you will be able to delete whatever game saves you need.

SMW only supports backing up and restoring saves unfortunately. :/

last one is r1260, and it's available in the internal update menu too.
if updating from internal menu gets you to 1256 (last google version), then re-update again and this time it will be from sourceforge.
If you are lower than 1256 and the update doesn't work, it's caused by google shutting down their website. You'll have to manually replace the dol.

I didn't work on it since that release.
I was busy with testing loadiine, writing guide/tuto, working on another project of mine (firefox addon which really need a fix, more urgent than usbgx)

Next work I'll do on the loader will be the HDD detection issue.
I bought one, but haven't even unwrapped it yet.
