I know it is weird question but here i go.

I am looking for DS flashcard that works like Sky3DS.
What does that mean ?

Sky3DS flashcard operates in such way that 3ds thinks it is legit game it has it's own home menu button. Once you switch game home menu button changes and 3ds thinks you loaded up completely different card in it.

So why the fuss ?

DS flashcards on other hand usually use same homebutton to load up their own firmware from which rom is loaded.

This means that whatever you play is always treated by 3ds as that one rom (in my case some bomberman). It also means that Activity log on 3DS doesn't show your DS games played.

With Sky3DS approach to loading rom Activity log would show up properly what you played and how many hours.

I don't think there was ever a DS flashcart like that, no. There would've been no reason to do so, since the DS/DSi systems didn't have an activity log as far as I know, and since you could run your own code on the DS, a selection menu would've been (and was) a much nicer choice than buttons.

Short Answer: No.
Long Answer: Just isn't worth the cost. The amount of logic and parts to emulate that feature + proprietary software is way too much vs just drag and drop and go.

Activity log care only about what you start from home menu not what you start on your flashcard.

So no matter what you do on your flashcard all time on it spend will be treated as thing used in homemenu.

well either way thanks for info. Looks like .cia method from other thread could be something like that in future.

Nah, setting up the kernel and everything is much better. Hell, I can even zip all my kernel files, cheat database, and custom pokemon theme if people ask nicely...
(No roms, emulators, or homebrew apps included)

It would be pretty cool if it were available, though.
no would be a pain because then you would have to swap games with a button like the sky3ds, also considering how many games a DS flash cart can carry because roms are so small GL swapping between easily 70+

My 8GB card is filled with just the best games the DS has to offer, and all are trimmed (and patched if needed).

and how many games is that also is it completlely filled because i have 2.3gb of trimmed Roms here mostly A list Titles and some good 3rd party ones, 48 games so your easily in the 100+ mark with an 8gb card.

Imagine having to Button swap through them all like a Sky3DS

I usually have like 3-4 games on my flashcard so that is not problem for me.

Basically, if anyone needs a working WOODR4 kernel setup, I can zip the contents of my SD card and upload it.

Which kinda defeats the purpose of the card in the first place if your gonna own so little you may aswell own the original cartridges lol

He means using the flash Card as as it is is much better because making flash cards which have been working for years and perfected over that time with features (also got cheaper) into a Worse Card just for the sake of an activity log on a console it wasnt originally designed for is a big step back

That's opinion. Imo for me it would be better. I don't need 100+ roms on card because i usually play my own DS card rips which means that i don't actually own that many roms to begin with.

Going back to subject. Does the title id of flashcard is something that is on kernel or flashcard itself (as in build in hardware) ?

What i mean is that if by chance this is in Kernel then it would be possible to switch which how card looks like from home menu point of view. Which also means that it would be possible to change title id from flashcard OS itself maybe even make it automatic to change automatically to what you are actually playing right now (though it would require restart i think)

I do believe it resides in the flashable firmware of the cart.

Nothing really, just ease of setup, that's all. An "extract all to SD" solution. :)

So in other words you can change title id of flashcard in home menu to something else from kernel itself of flashcard ?
Like in my case changing my Bomberman id to Pokemon you mentioned ?
PM me, i would like to test that :)
