Hi

If i downgrade my new 3DSxl 10.3 -> 9.2
Then create emunand and update Emunand E9.2 -> E10.5
will i be able to access (in emunand) the pokebank that is currently present in my sys 10.3 ?

Probably same question about nintendo account, eshop and friend stuff. Can i keep and use all of them in Emunand ?

Thanks for answer

There is actually a homebrew version of the pokebank and it's free compared to the real thing. Give it a search. As long as your emunand is updated to the latest fw (make sure your cfw supports it) I know reinand cfw supports the latest which I am using on my emunand and I have access to all my stuff like friends. I haven't tried eshop thou. Plus I have my emunand and sysNand unlinked

SO Im back and I followed this tutorial and setted up rx tools on my 2DS:

But can I now safely update EmuNAND to 10.5? Or will rxtools be not working then? (I used the Nightly build 83afbb6 from github to install it)

I currently have pokémon on my pokébank. That's why i would like to access it.

Also, i already have a O3DS with GW/rxTools/etc, but i would also like to hack my new 3DS. That's why i don't want to simply update my new 3DS

Anyway, my pokémon are more precious than the hack stuff on my new 3DS. If i have no solution, i'll deal with it and perform an update.

That's why you can unlink your sysNand from the emunand and the proceed to update your emunand to latest which I think is 10.5 (not sure) then you would regain access to everything until the next update but if you don't do that I'm afraid I don't think you can without updating to the latest. But that's all I know. Best of luck to you!

Unlinking emunand in another thing, unless it's needed to update the emunand ?

Hey, im a noob.
I got:
-A Gateway 3DS with newest firmware
-3DS with SysNAND/FW 4.4
-EmuNAND on 9.2
-Pokemon X

I read some articles including the guide on this forum aswell about savegame issue with card2 games because of a encryption.
I WANT to stay on FW 4.4 and use the offline exploit.
I start a new game on my 3DS with 4.4, i know i cant play on sysnad because it gets updated with pokemon right?
But can i play Pokemon on another 3DS with a new FW. I want to get a new3DS soon and i dont want to lose my save if i play pokemon on it.
So if i start on FW 4.4 with Emunand on 9.2 can i play it on my new3DS and will it still work with my 3DS after?
I know that there is this encryption issue but i honestly dont udnerstand it, no matter how much i read about it.
So did Gateway fix this, that it works fluently?
There is an option to unlink SysNAND and emuNAND ,wil it work then?
Feel free to explain it to me, thanks for any help in advance

Unlinking emunand in another thing, unless it's needed to update the emunand ?
Basically what unlinking allows you to make your sysNand and emunand separate being if that makes since. Once they are separate like if you only play on your emunand and never use your sysNand. You can update your emunand cfw to the latest fw if your cfw can run it. Your sysNand won't be updated. Only your emunand will be updated. Unlinking makes it like a fail safe so you don't update your sysNand by accident I think. I did it so I could run menuhax with a theme. Plus unlinking makes sure that cia files are installed to whichever Nand your using. I noticed before I unlinked my cia files where getting installed and showing up on my sysNand as well. By unlinking made it create are separate folder for the sysnand. Like now I am on my reinand version rei 10.5 and in the eshop looking at the pokebank

that doesn't answer the question yet.

1 - is my pokébank account present in my emunand once i have created emunand from my sysnand that currently have a pokébank licence.
2 - can i update emunand to 10.5 if emunand and sysnand are still linked ? (because i don't plan to unlink them)

I just download and updated pokebank(says I can't access because I don't have the pass lol) from the eshop on my reinand cfw. So if you can get your emunand updated ,if it's supported , to the latest fw. You can access it on. (You may have to use the latest reinand cfw because idk of any other cfw supports 10.5 yet)

ok, let's reformulate the question

i have a pokébank account on my New 3DS, which is currently not hacked at all.
This account is clearly linked with the 3DS, aka probably completely dependant of the sysnand.

The question is : will i retrieve the same licence/account on the emunand once i have created and updated it.
(optionnal question : can i update emunand if i do not unlink sys and emu nands, because i don't want to do it yet)

Of course i know that pokébank works on emunand. THE question is : Will it use same licence, aka the same account, aka where my pokémon are stored. (or will it create a random new account when i'll start the pokébank on emunand for the 1st time)

I also have no problem with reiNand or any custom firmware since i'll use Gateway which supports 10.5 emunand (unless they lied)

If you do things right (ex. downgrade right, unlink right, restore stuff right), you should be able to retain everything with unlinked nands.

yes Emunand will use the same account if you do not plan on unlinking it.

Though I don't understand why you would keep them linked, there's risks of updating sysNand if you update Emunand.

The current sysnand of my new 3DS possesses my nintendo account, all (few) games i bought, pokébank account, etc.

I would like to avoid unlinkind them by formating sysnand since i would like to keep sysnand carrying all my data, but formating emunand means no more pokébank data on emunand (i guess, tell me if i'm wrong with this last statement).
or maybe it's possible to save emunand before unlinking to restore it on unlinked emunand ? it's been a long time i didn't do nand creation but that might works. In that case that would be good.

When you say that we can update sysnand, that means that by updating emunand doing the right thing, the sysnand might updates itself ?

Currently i have just installed menuhax. And i'm happy that browserhax is back on 10.3 versions \o/ (because i don't have iron game)

Let's say I have a NAND backup of 10.3, (unlinked) sysNAND of 9.2, and emuNAND 10.5. Let's say, I want to change my emuNAND to 9.2. If I create a new emuNAND it will replace my linked emuNAND with the unlinked sysNAND so I won't be able to access the saves on my SD card, correct?

Is there a way to somehow put the "linked" crypto stuff back in?

That's fair enough, keeping them linked because you have eShop purchases on your NNID and stuff like that.

There are two types of formatting Emunand. One is literally cloning your Sysnand onto a separate partition on your SD card, and the other is formatting Emunand like you would format Sysnand.

I think I get what you're saying about saving Emunand, yes there is a way to save your Emunand before unlinking and then restoring it. That's what I meant when I said restoring stuff.

Yes that's what I ment about updating Emunand.

Great.

Now i just need to a way to back up a Nand from 10.3 new 3DS. Seems a little bit hard this time.

So i don't :D

Last step is too find 9.2 update to put in my sd card. For some reason, google doesn't want to show me an explicit download link.
(Or to wait the gateway downgrade method)

Edit : i guess i found it : 9.2.0-20E(Full)_n3DS.zip, 'update' folder full of .cia things

Edit : Sorry for noobiing again, i already have hacked my O3DS multiple time, but i still need to figure something.

Edit : i think i have a last question to my hack quest :
I want to change my µSD card, but some datas are stored in it.
Should i copying/pasting all folders and files from the Old SD to the new before performing the Emunand Creation ?
Or can i create the Emunand, then transfert files and folders to the new SD card ?

I would like to avoid going to Eshop to download pokébank once i changed SD card.

Currently, i installed menuhax and all files necessaries to downgrade.
Should i stop it and do everything from the new SD card ?

When you create the emuNAND it will format your SD card (since it needs to change the partition table to save space at the start for the emuNAND itself), so just wait until after you build your emuNAND to copy the files to the new SD card.

So i guess i'll create the emuNand directly on the new SD card.

how will i be able to copy the old Nintendo3DS folder if another one is created when i format the emunand ? No merging probleme ?

Just transfer all the files onto the new SD card before doing anything and make sure it works on your 3ds.
