So, I am currently in desperate need of the ability to launch homebrew launcher inside emunand. Whenever I try to launch with either browserhax or hblauncher.cia I freeze with a red screen at the bottom and a black screen at the top. I am on rxtools 10.5

EDIT: I meant to save browserhax/hblauncher not menuhax.

Yeah I do have boot.3dsx at the root of my SD, I dont think I could get into rxtools if I didn't..and sorry about that I didnt mean to say menuhax I meant Hblauncher.

My rxtools autolaunches and everything just fine, its just I cant get into the homebrew menu in it. I need to use the homebrew menu in emunand for what I am trying.

whatever you're using as a boot.3dsx is probably trying to open rxtools immediately. this doesn't work in emunand and would result in the red-bottom-black-top screens. change the timeout to not be zero or something?

How do I change the timeout (sorry if thats a stupid question)

Actually, nevermind I am in ctr and the boot timeout is set to 0

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'd also like to add, I am able to launch the homebrew launcher at startup by holding down on d-pad and selecting is, but the issue there is that that uses sysnand as its source and I dont want that.

Since you're using a boot manager, launch rxTools from sys.bin instead, and change the homebrew launcher to boot.3dsx, unless of course this is already your current setup.

hex editing the payload for hblauncher cia should work a-ok. Just make sure that what ever you make it target is still 4 characters long (i.e. bhbl / hbls (HomeBrewLauncher Smea) / hblg (HomeBrewLauncher Grid) instead of boot)

Ok, sadly I ran into another issue (they just love me lol) I followed this guide to the T [http://i.imgur.com/10eG2QU.png] and when I went to boot up my 3DS it coldbooted into the homebrew menu (which was still running off sysnand) luckily I backed everything up and was able to get back to where I was at, but yeah im not sure what the issue is now.

Sounds like you didn't save the edited payload , once the payload is edited it'll look for whatever you called your ctrboot.3dsx (boot.3dsx) , In my case , I named it bctr.3dsx , and edited the payload accordingly

Before today: Rei CFW with 11.2 emunand.

Mk, starting the process for a9lh on N3DS, and ran into my first fail problem on actual step 1, the homebrew launcher browser on sysnand.
Every time i launch browserhax, i enter black and red screen.

I think I keep the wrong file when preping for a9lh

Left picture is root, right is 3ds folder.

Any idea what I need to delete to avoid that black and red screen to enter browserhax?
I thought I removed my previous coldboot set up before a9lh....

You need to have a boot.3dsx file on the root of your SD card, which I'm not seeing. That is very necessary to get into the Homebrew Launcher.

derp, facepalms. thanks.
Removed too many files I guess in preparing from emunand to a9lh.
Thanks.
On that note, do you see any other that might conflict with installing a9lh?

Why do you have an updates folder? If your sysNAND is on 9.2, you don't need to downgrade, and A9LH installation is now done from sysNAND. I had a very similar setup (using ReiNAND) before installing A9LH on one of my systems. I see an ntr.bin. If you want to continue using NTR, you're better off using BootNTR Selector by Nanquitas after you finish the A9LH installation.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
