Thanks, bit the bullet and went for it.

N3DS 9.6 to 9.2. Working fine. Had the memory card issues but working fine.

Time for a rest before I move on!

Thanks for the help guys!

Not looked at the cwf's yet but is one of them noob friendly/feature rich?

Rxtools is the only cfw for n3ds that's feature rich, but does not support 10.5 emunand yet.

Cakesfw and reinand do support 10.5, but are minimalist cfws and you'll need to install a few things.

What is the downside of having a linked Sysnand and Emunand on 9.2 with CFW?
The "gift" bug. If sysNAND and emuNAND are linked, everytime you access sysNAND, you will have to unwrap all of your installed cias on emuNAND. It also causes any changes that happen on one NAND to happen to the other.

How can I downgrade my NVer? I'm on 9.2 sysNAND and I needed to access the eshop so I upgraded my NVer so I could successfully perform a firmware spoof. Now I'm trying to do what I did before, only to downgrade it, but it's not working.

I see.

Is there any other notable cons about this? I might do it this way.

I have a friend who has a JP 3DS coming his way, is there a way to at least play US retail carts on it...or does simply changing emuNAND's region fix that? Do I even have to region-swap it at all?

Changing emuNAND's region should fix the problem, but you don't need to do that for region free. You can use Free Multi Patcher to play out-of-region games.

I see, but there's still an underlying question beyond that -- with a JP 3DS playing a US cart, does that still restrict him from playing online at all? I mean he should have a japanese NNID at the least, no?

I believe out-of-region carts can still play online fine. I think once you get past the initial region lock, you have access to all of the game's features.

Hello guys, is there a way i can host the code.bin page to access rxTools? I saw there was an app for Android, but it dowsn't work anymore, right?

I mean to host it locally on a Webserver in Windows or Android.

Yes. It can be done locally via Wamp server. I set up a github.io site with the ability to do this a while ago here, but it hasn't been updated for a while. The source for the 3DS section of the site is available here if you want to download it and update it to work with the newest versions of rxTools. Then you can just host it on a local Wamp server and access it with your 3DS.

I'm on 9.2 recently downgraded from 10.3.

How do I use Tinyformatter to keep my data (NNID, Friendcode, Games and Saves) on Emunand for Reinand? I found a tutorial that says:

Steps courtesy of Sgt. Lulz at GBATemp
1) Open EmuNAND9 from the Homebrew Menu
2) (Optional, but highly reccomended) EmuNAND Manager Options > Dump SysNAND to NAND.bin
3) Eject your SD card by pressing SELECT and physically ejecting
4. Back up all the contents of your SD card to your PC and place NAND.bin somewhere secure away from the backup
5. Insert your SD card back in the console and press B
6. Select Complete EmuNAND Setup and follow the instructions. THIS WILL FORMAT YOUR ENTIRE SD CARD.
7. Switch the console off and restore your SD card backup

But I think this would whipe my data and it doesn't have Tinyformat in this tutorial.
