i dont know if my data is in tact, i will test soon. hopefully it is, and when i redownload the lost titles, they will have their data...

EDIT: Still got my data :)

EDIT 2: Titles are back :)

I am in the boat that is stuck. New 3ds on 10.3, going to 9.2. Booting HBM from menuhax (holding L at boot). SysUpdater says that a cia file is messed up. Used SafeSysUpdater, and it validated all the files. SafeSysUpdater gives me the pink dots.

Tried the FTPBrony pressing twice, still no luck. :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the quick reply but i was using menuhax. i dont have ironfall to use ironhax.
hmm... well, sorry my reply wasnt so speedy this time, but you can try:
1) leaving the .3dsx file for sysupdater in the 3ds folder alone, not within a subfolder. i was able to launch it as a lone file, but i didnt use that method. (since nobody tried this, you might not feel safe doing it. that's fine, i'm not sure it would do much anyway. when i was using ironhax the .3dsx in a subfolder showed corrupted text, while the .3dsx alone in the 3ds folder showed regular text. neither responded to me pressing any buttons.)
2) turning off network. before i turned off the wifi on my 3ds i couldnt really get the file to start, not sure if they had anything to do with each other.
3) install oothax. another entrypoint. the homebrew starter kit had a .3dsx file just for this.
4) install tubehax. the more entrypoints the better. ( look at smealums github for more info )
5) there is no 5
6) try reformatting the sd card. maybe your problem has something to do with the sd card or the copied file was a bit messed up.

i ordered them in the order i would try them, easiest, to hardest/least likely to do something. also, double check that everything is where it should be. .3dsx files are in the 3ds folder, or in a subfolder in the 3ds folder, the update cias are for the correct FW version, hardware model, and region, and place in a folder titles 'updates' on the root of the sd card.

Good Luck.

PS since nobody tested the lone .3dsx file other than what i did, after you try the .3dsx alone, go back to using the .3dsx in a subfolder, because you might as well try it normally if you install another entry point.

Good luck again.

If I wanna use safesysupdater with the N3DS, there is only 1 file in the zip but in the video it says 2. Should I put the .smdh file from the normal sysupdater zip also on my sd card and rename it to SafesysUpdater.smdh?

you updated via cartridge correct? yeah, 9.9+ browsers display that code if you dont update. bye bye browserhax.

its not gonna work. the only way to use your browser now is update... to 10.4, where downgrading doesnt work.

All you have to do is use one of the *many* other entry points (Smashhax, tubehax, themehax, ironhax, Oothax, Ninjhax)

the .smdh is optional. you can use any .smdh file from any homebrew (if any) AFAIK.

I just learned that the message is caused by a code that allows nintendo to block your browser if you didnt update. use a different entrypoint (Smashhax, oothax, themehax, ninjhax, ironhax).

thanks. i found a youtube clip and his sysupdater doesn't show arm 11 kernel exploit like my previous screen. he was able to get the cia's to load by replacing the dbs files in the nintendo 3ds folder on the sd card. i tried doing so, but i received an error message "title exception: main cpp:148: Result: 0xD8E08067 failed to get CIA file info!"

IMG_7221.JPG

so i searched ithe message on google and someone with the exact same message was using a mac to get the files instead of windows. someone who responded to that thread stated that mac has hidden files that could cause the cia's not to load. he tried deleting those hidden files but it still didnt work. he later used windows and was able to get his 3ds downgraded.

below is the youtube video and the site i found in regards to using windows instead of a mac for anyone having the same issue that can test it. i will have to try to get the files at a friend's place who has windows because i'm on a mac. so hopefully this will solve the problem. i won't be able to test it until the weekend the earliest.

Guys, I have some questions, the thread has 235 pages now and its hard to read all the pages to get the information I need, so:

1) I have a N3DS XL on Firmware 10.0.0-27U, I can downgrade it to 9.2 safely ?
2) I cannot access the eShop, my 3DS is banned, but I have some games that I bought before the ban (Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, some virtual console games and etc.), I will lose those games ? And the saves ? Can I back-up then to reinstall ?
3) To use the Homebrew Channel I use the combination Sky3DS + Cubic Ninja, it's safe to downgrade using the HBChannel that way ? If it's not, what is the better way to acess the HBChannel to Downgrade ?
4) After the downgrade, I will be able to install game updates via .cia files ? I have some physical games like Super Smash Bros but, because of the ban I cannot update the game and as a consequence I cannot play online. This is the main reason I want to downgrade the console.

Sorry for the n00b (And probably repeated) questions and the poor english, by the way...

Question:

Since I heard 10.3.0-28 has most successful downgrade (I myself succeeded to downgrade 2 N3DS XL from 10.3.0-28U), would this sysupdater be any safer to update to 10.3.0-28 first before start downgrading?
