Transfer emuNAND to another SD card. Working on New3DS!

EDIT: The emuNAND Tool has been updated and now works again!

Since right now the emuNAND Tool doesn't work, I've come up with a workaround:

Programs you will need:
Both these programs are free.

PLEASE NOTE: Doing the following method will make a 1:1 copy of the source SD card and put it on the target SD card. It will transfer everything, not just emuNAND.

How to:
  1. Plug the source SD card into your PC, this is the card that you want to transfer emuNAND from.
  2. Run USB Image Tool
  3. Click on the SD card and then "Backup"
  4. Remove the source SD Card and replace it with the target SD Card.
  5. Click on the new SD card, locate the backup image and then "Restore"
  6. Run EaseUS Partition Master and click on "EaseUS Partition Master Free"
  7. Right click on the SD card's partition with data on it, it should be in between two Unallocated partitions and choose "Resize/Move Partition"
  8. Click on the MIDDLE PARTITION, the one that has the data on it and expand it TO THE RIGHT (VERY IMPORTANT)
  9. Click OK
  10. Click Apply on the top left, then OK
  11. Done!
Important Information:
Currently with Gateway 3.1.0 there's a (visual?)bug with higher capacity microSD cards. When running emuNAND it doesn't show the "GW3D" in settings, before the version number telling you if you're in emuNAND or not, because of this its very risky to update emuNAND.
With my guide you can use a 4gb microSD card (where the visual bug doesn't happen) to format emuNAND, update to the latest firmware and transfer it onto a higher capacity microSD card.

Don't panic! - When the transfer is complete and you run the updated emuNAND on your new 3ds it still wont show the "GW3D" prefix before the version number. It'll just say 9.5.0-22E or something along those lines.

Any questions, feel free to ask :)

Here is what I would do...

1. Backup emunand with- https://gbatemp.net/threads/emunand-tool-release-and-support-thread.359239/

2. Format any size SD card with this-http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1529

3. Use this program, not to inject emunand but FORMAT and make sure you select the right version system Old/New 3DS- https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-3ds-multi-emunand-creator.381603/
Be sure to point it to your emunand.bin for the format and done. Copy your files and your good.

Not doing this to be rude, just another solution.

Thanks, worked like a charm! switched from 16gb to 32gb. emunand tool didn't worked for me (error: invalid nand file size or something). I just had to format sd card after 3rd point manually in windows

I have a feeling this method is causing me to fail installing CIAs somewhat randomly. I get the invalid CIA msg and it gives me error code 0xc960454c. I transferred from a 8gb to a 16gb and it's on the same o3ds. Just kinda happens randomly, large games are near impossible to install. If I keep trying I can get CIAs to install that previously gave me the invalid CIA msg.
me to it tells me that it cant find the cia?

HI, so I have one question. Do all my games and themes transfer over too? Like when I do this, then put it back in my 3DS, it would be like nothing changed? Themehax and rxTools would stay?

Yes thats the point of it.

Got a question regarding the visual bug

I had a RDX 10.3.0-28E EmuNand and after the transfer from 4GB > 32GB SDCard the RDX prefix disappeared. I'm not sure I understand the phrasing correct, should I re-format my EMUNand with the Gateway tool?

So i've already restored the disk image to the new SD card, but when I open up the partitioning software my SD card doesn't show up in the list of storage devices. Any idea what the issue is? I'm running the program as a administrator.

EDIT: I did a full format on the new card because i couldn't get it to open in the partitioning software and i was left with an 8gb card with only 3gb of available space. So in short i'm back at square one and the partitioning program still only recognizes my disk drive. I've tried using other partition programs that do recognize my card but they won't let me extend the partition

I'm trying to put my old emunand into a new SD card. I'm now at the step where I made a backup.img of my "old" emunand and I want to inject it in the new SD car with the USB Image Tool.
Issue: New SD card came with ExFat format... and when I want to format it, it only show NTFS and ExFat... Can you help me with it? Thank you, guys! :)

EDIT: Ok, I made it worked as Fat32 with a software. I cloned my old emunand in the new SD, and I used the partition manager software push to the right all the partitions. So now my SD card is only 1 partition of 59,4 Gb.
Emunand is loading, but the 2 sofware i'm using for .cias are not loading anymore. Black screen with " an error occured". Even with the title manager.3ds on the gateway card, it fails saying "error occured". Do you have a clue on what I did wrong?

So I installed FBI.cia with FBI.3DS. I uninstalled Devmenu_2X.cia and BBM.cia, reinstalled them... same issue. An error has occured.
FBI.cia is working like a charm!!
Still need to understand what is happening.

Does anyone know how the usb image tool would affect going from a 32kb cluster size to a 64kb cluster size, would it work?

Be sure to point it to your emunand.bin for the format and done. Copy your files and your good.

On step 3 when I click format and select my emunand.bin, I get the following message:

Fat partition detected below the the required offset (at 0x002000000). Do you want to begin the drive layout modification procedure? Please, bear in mind that doing so will wipe the data on your current FAT partition. If you select "No", the process will be canceled.

I assume I am supposed to press "Yes", but doing so gives me another error:

Couldn't format the new FAT partition (4).

It does create the 2GB partition for the emunand, but doesn't copy the emunand.bin over. Any ideas?

I'm also having this problem. FBI works and can install cia's just fine but BBM doesn't work anymore.

EDIT: I figured out what I did wrong. When I dragged to the right on EaseUS partition master, I also dragged left to fill the small empty space on the left as well and that must have broken something. Only drag right and leave the small white space to the left when you resize your partition.

Trying to transfer my SD data from 1 16gb card to another 16gb card. However, they're different brands. One SD card has 12gb of data taken up, but it's img is 14.8 gb. The other SD card is only 14.4gb available. When I got my image and tried to backup, I got a space error because of the extra 400 mb. Is there any fix for this?

Thanks Ripper :)

N3DS (emunand 10.4 GW and Reinand 3.1) mSD 32 to 64 GB
1/ Backup Emunand OK
2/ I couldn't format with fat32format because of some stupid windows device exclusive lock error so
I used this software to format FAT32 (cluster 32K) : AOMEI Partition standard (http://www.disk-partition.com/download-home.html)
3/ Format with emunand Injection OK (some warning messages though about offset, click yes)
4/ Had to reformat again FAT32 the second partition with AOMEI
5/ File transfer from old mSD to new mSD

Everything is good

The program no longer allows the free premeium trial to apply the resizes.
Anyone know of any working alternatives? D:?

Edit:
Googling "License key MrSzzS" might help you out ;)
