1. Launch FBI
2. Press L ONCE to switch to NAND installation.
3. Install Nver (overwrite if prompted), FMP, etc.
4. Reboot
5. I was able link NNID in EmuNAND without running FMP
6. Run FMP, patch with settings in OP
7. Load HBL -> eShop

Dude, the eshop "app" in the HBL is just a shortcut that runs it in HANS. It is strongly suggested that people use the shortcut because it has all the proper settings setup already.

Also, running FMP is not just for the eshop, it is for any part of the system that might check for an update (there are quite a few actually, like updating games, buying themes, buying dlc, all of which can be done without going into the shop or using hans)

Then disable the 'no auto download' option in FMP when you need to update a game, etc & re-enable it when you want to access the eshop? I don't even have HANS on my N3DS because I couldn't figure out what I even needed it for, lol.

Edit: Anyone know the reason why rxTools crashes FAR more often during the countdown after installing the newer nver?

God no, the "no auto download" is to stop the system from automatically downloading a system update.

You should ALWAYS run FMP after rebooting the system and loading emunand. The nim patch it does to bypass the update still works. You can actually still use it to get into the eshop (if you updated NVer to bypass the new check during NNID sign in). The reason we use HANS to access the eshop has nothing to do with bypassing updates, its because the old version of the eshop (which we have to use since we can't update the system) is no longer able to access content. Nintendo took down the urls used by the old eshop to access the cdn, and HANS patches the new urls in.

Ahhhh. I misunderstood your previous post as meaning that if you use FMP it will effect game updates, DLC, etc. to no longer work. So we can safely leave N3DS in sleep mode with Wi-Fi enabled as long as we applied the FMP patches after boot? I also just realized that I DO need to use HANS if I wan't to download any demos from the eSHop. Otherwise I will get the 007-2404 error. It opens fine without HANS, but nothing inside of it works without error.

Edit: So the best way to do this is have both HANS and HBL installed as cia on emunand? That way I won't have to keep going back to the rxTools menu to get to HBL?

Yep, and that error is basically a 404 error. I mean, its kinda obvious. 007-2404. Its because the eshop can't reach the url's it is trying to reach. HANS patches in the new ones and suddenly the eshop works.

Or not. LoL. I guess there is no cia version of hans, but launching it from cia HBL on emunand will install anything from the store on emunand, correct? Only time it would install on sysnand is if I loaded HBL from rxTools at boot, then hans, then eshop?

Ok so it should DOWNLOAD anything you have access to. Unfortunately any game or demo that makes use of the new 9.6+ crypto seed will fail to install.

As for accessing the eshop on sysnand via hans, you might run into an error depending on if you have a NNID set up on sysnand. If you do then you will need an updated NVer or it will ask you to update when it tries to sing int. If you do not, then you will be asked to link a NNID when you go to download or purchase something.

In that case I will stick HANS back on my sd card for any demos I want to check out using sysnand.... until rxTools gives us 10.3 emunand.

@Aroth Edit: I installed the Stella Glow demo on emunand. So it must not use the 9.6+ crypto seed? Any examples of ones that DO use it?

Edit2: Nevermind. I forgot that to actually use it from emunand eshop games have to be installed on both sys & emu.

Thanks for the tutorial, worked great on n3DS XL with NVER and FMP. But how to do it now on the sysNand ? Just do the same steps ? (HBL in sysNand, than install NVER through FBI and link NNID ?)

Every guide and person says run through HANS and doesn't mention using only the HBL app, I was just suggesting that it be made known

I'm on cfw so I'm only using NVER according to the post if that's what you meant, but I can see other CIAs just not the NVER one.

One more question. Worked well to get some paid apps again from eshop except Super Mario 3D Land and the Nintendo Anime Channel. Always gives an error like 007-2426 something like that. Can anyone tell me why ? Tried with both Hans spoofed eshop apps in the HBL, the normal and the old one.

The same happens for ALL updates I want to download from the eshop, even for youtube.

Any cure for the drastic increase in rxTools freezing after installing the latest NVER? I've seen at least a few other people mention the same thing.

I was told that you can't link your NNID on both sysnand & emunand.
