If you are one of the hundreds of people who downgraded from 10.3 and setup Emunand you may have what I call a frankefirmware where some titles are incorrect/missi
I get "preparing to start the home menu..." after updating (10.3U downgrade 9.2, then emunand -> 9.5), then black screen. I can press power button and it goes into the power off menu but I can't access the home menu.

ng so updating may or may not work.

I guess that's our issue. =/

Any fix for it yet?

For now I didn't find anything that could help us.

So it doesn't matter if the updated emunand version doesn't have RX in front of it?

Yes it totally should.
If it doesn't have the RX in front of the update name, you probably are not in your emuNAND.

I only ask because in step 7 it says "You did it! Once your console reboots and fixes home management your New 3DS's Emunand should be at 9.5.0-23" But the screenshot provided doesn't show the "RX"

I use a Gateway 3DS and at the time there launcher did not display GW3D 9.5.0-23.

Try uninstalling menuhax.
How exactly do you uninstall it? I went into sysNAND and changed the theme, then went into the SD and deleted the files from the 3ds folder. If I use browserhax to get into emuNAND I still have a black screen.

Also I created an emuNAND backup just like the tutorial said but when I use emuNAND tools and click "inject NAND to emuNAND" I get the error "Invalid NAND file size!". Is there something I'm doing wrong? Using version 1.0.1 of emuNAND fixed this problem

How did you get on 10.3.0-28U on N3DS???? It isn't even supposed to be possible because of unknown keys or whatever.
Edit: Please tell me its legit and how you did it. Lol. I want to be on 10.3.0-28U so I don't have to spoof to open eShop and all that.

I'm able to update successfully to 9.5U from 9.2, which I've downgraded to from 10.3 using sysUpdater 0.4.1. I used 0.4.2b to update to 9.5 and the update is successful, but I have a problem. When I boot into my emuNAND using rxTools and CTRBootManager from menuhax, the screen is completely black for about 1 second. After this a dialog appears that says "Preparing HOME Menu. Do not power off..." etc. that never completely loads and just disappears. It never loads 1% (to my eye). It has the square grid animation that most Nintendo loaders have, and after about 5 seconds since the dialog appeared, it stops for a bit and then the dialog just disappears into blackness. Just blackness. Never takes me to the HOME menu, but I can still press the Power button which takes me to the Power menu. I can then try pressing the HOME button from there, but that just leaves me at that white ribbon that says "HOME Menu" forever. My only solution to get it back is to restore my emuNAND.bin which takes me back down to 9.2. What should I do to fix this?

My emuNAND was a copy of 9.2 DIRECTLY after I downgraded from 10.3, so it has my original NNID settings and whatnot as well as access to all the eShop games I had installed back on 10.3. It still has access when I boot into the 9.2 emuNAND and can play all the games I installed perfectly fine (except for Badge Arcade).
