So Nintendo has a refurbished console sale+Nintendo Land hard case game(payed 200$+taxes etc),after the console arrived I see it has no nintendo ID,but it has 2 preinstalled games on it:

-Super Mario 3D World
-Nintendo Land

The games are not tied up to any account and just put in my own(They are not demos either since the size is for the full game).

So is it possible to have preinstalled games on the Wii U that are not tied in any way to an account or is this a new oddity?

Also is a transfer to another Wii U possible?

Nintendo did something similar when DSi XL was launched (bundled with Brain Age). For DSi XL, bundled software is not transferable (permanently locked to the system).

Not sure how Wii U handles it, but I'd assume it is locked to the system too.

Bundled games are actually tied to the console in 2 ways, Nintendo ID, if available, and the units serial number. When you log onto the Wii-U shop with that console it will allow you download the bundled games if they are missing because it knows the serial number is allowed to do so.

What I did was buy the bundled system, system transferred my old wii u to the bundled system, waited 7 days, then transferred back. All my original games and the 2 games are on the old wii u. You cando the same thing with the 3ds. I bought the luigi dream team xl and transferred my girlfriends 3ds to the dreamteam 3ds, waited 7 days, transferred back to my girlfriends 3ds, waited 7 days, transferred my ambassador 3ds to the dreamteam xl. sold my og 3ds.

FYI: the bundled system can't have a NNID attached, only the old one can. same with 3ds'. Never attach a NNID to new systems before you transfer as it won't work, even if it's the same NNID.

so the 3DX XL ended up with the ambassador titles and Mario & Luigi Dream Team?

This really confuses me. Please explain again.

So if I get a Mario Kart preinstalled Wii U bundle, I can't link it to a NNID? Or you mean even if I link it to a NNID the preinstalled game woouldn't tie to the NNID thus prevent me to transfer the game to another Wii U?

Back in 2014, Nintendo finally got rid of those limitations and games are now linked to NNIDs. That's what I read for 3DSes, and I'm sure it also counts for Wii U too.

Also, I heard somewhere on Miiverse that someone bought games with one of their alternate accounts and would have to lose those games to delete said account. So games should be tied to the account.

It's not quite that and is still a little silly but it's a better system than simply locked to the console. Now the games are linked to your NNID but your console is also linked, so you get your games on the console that is linked to your NNID, functionally it's the same, the games are linked to your system as your NNID is linked to it, the reason it's better is this next part.

In order to get them on another console you need to contact them to remove the old serial on the console and then link your new one, this then transfers everything over.

It's why you can't have multiple Wii U's/3DS' on your account at one time, you need to unlink the old one to use the new one.

I know this because I recently had to contact them to remove the serial of an old broken 3DS when I got a new N3DS, once it was removed I linked the new one and was able to download all the ambassador games I got on the old one which got linked to my NNID when it was introduced.
