You might not, but I can at least attest that upon seeing a 4K display showing a game in action at that resolution, I was immediately wowed... the same way I was wowed when 1080p was the big daunting resolution, and stuff like 1024x768 was the normal choice for PC resolutions.

Anyone found a method to buy a >1.76 PS4 in stores? Are there certain bundles or certain serial numbers that are guaranteed to have >1.76?

Yeah. Most ps4s that you can buy in stores have firmwares over 1.74, if you find one with less your lucky. So go for it. If you don't find what your looking for and end up with a firmware below 1.74 just update it.

Go to a store, buy a PS4. You are almost 100% guaranteed to get a >1.76 PS4

That's what I was wondering, but it's only viable on such a low firmware that not many people would get to use it anyway. I'd rather use the money to fix my cfw ps3. The only ps4 game i want right now is Disgaea 5.

Knack bundle and killzone bundle are guaranteed to be less then 1.76, they are launch day bundles.

Whoa.. Don't jump to get it right away. We bought PS4 a month ago in Portugal that came with 2.56. Be patient. They said the higher FW is possible since one just test on 3.11. Here is the source:

Apparently it reports that could be effective for FW higher but that is waiting to be confirmed. For now, only those who are in 1.76 could soon enjoy their consoles released.

If its not released for newer firmwares (which it probably won't be for awhile), it would nice if they made a downgrader like the PS3 had. Wasn't there also a downgrader that was software based? I think it was called Factory Service Mode? It would be cool if that was in the PS4 as well that let people downgrade their PS4 consoles to an exploitable firmware and then we get CFW for PS4 that will let you go online. I have no intention to mod games or nothing. I'd just like home-brew ability and still be able to take the PS4 online. Emulators with NetPlay on PS4 would be pretty cool.

@CTurt I know you must hate this question with a burning passion but do you think this can at one point maybe 3 years down the road be used for backup loading in some fashion either through ISO mounting or launching whatever the equivalent of a default.xex from a 360 disc is on a PS4 ISO and no i'm not asking you to make anything nor do I want to know if you are making something a simple yes or no would be nice
