About save files, is there a safe way to copy them to another 3DS (without using the Save Data Transfer shit)?
I'm guessing that it wouldn't be an issue with card2 games such as Pokemon XY/ORAS, but what about card1 games?

I was thinking about how I'd manage my roms (personally I'm more attached to .3ds/3dz files than .cias) and considered converting them all to card2 to lessen the hassle of copying save files when I get a New3DS, but then I remembered that it would probably cause problems if I'd want to trim the files.

I'm trying to make a backup of my savegame with sdf, but it says ---BROKEN--- and won't let me export. Is there a workaround? Thanks.

Been looking around the forum for a concrete answer for this one. I also have a N3DS that is on 9.0X Emunand. What are the available methods of updating?
Going through the regular O3DS way, Im pretty sure it will update to 10.XX and will make the n3ds invalid with gateway. I read a method about acquiring an untrimmed version of a game that has 9.5.0-23 for my 3ds region, then updating the FW when Im on Emunand.
Before doing this, make a backup of your emuNAND with EmuNAND Tool.

To update emuNAND to 9.5, download the 9.5 cias from "some iso site." Place all of the update cias in a folder called "updates" without the quotes on the root of your SD card. Set up SysUpdater on your emuNAND. Launch SysUpdater and allow it to install the updates. Your emuNAND should now be on 9.5.0-23!

Hey guys, quick and stupid question here: I need to update the emunand for my friend, but I don't remember anything about how to do it.
I've tried to search some guides, but, as usual, I get confused about what to do or not to do, sooo... Anyone could give me a hand, please?
I also think I gotta update the gateway too. It's been a long time since we did that. 3.5.1 is the latest firmware, right?

If it's an O3DS, in emuNAND, you just need to go to system settings >other settings > system update. If it's an N3DS, you'll need to update emUNAND via SysUpdater to 9.5.0-23. Yes, 3.5.1 is the latest version of Gateway.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell that it's a N3DS...
Hmm... SysUpdater is new to me... Do you have a guide or something?

the post above yours has the details on how to do it. 9.5 is the highest firmware N3DS can have atm.

Create an emuNAND backup with EmuNAND Tool before doing this.

Grab SysUpdater from here. Download the 9.5.0-23 updates cias from "some iso site."

Create a folder on the root of your SD card called "updates" without the quotes.

Place all of the 9.5 update cias inside the "updates" folder and place the SysUpdater cia on the root of your SD card.

Install SysUpdater in emuNAND and run it. Press the A button to update. Once it's finished turn off your 3DS. When you boot back into emuNAND it should now be on 9.5.0-23.

Yeah, while I was waiting for your response, I googled to find out more about SysUpdater and found a guide in this very site by VerseHell...
Buut, one last thing: In that guide, it says:
PS : You can also use PBT or the rxtools devmode, but never update while in gateway mode, rxMode, cakes or any other cfw using firmlaunch or you'll likely brick your console.
Since I've gotta boot gateway to access emunand, does that mean I can't do this? Or I'm being an idiot like usual and it has nothing to do with what you said? Just want to be sure, 'cause the 3DS ain't mine, and I wouldn't want to brick it...
Thank you for being so patient and sorry if I'm bothering you.

VerseHell's guide is for sysNAND, not emuNAND. You do not need devmode to update emuNAND (nor is it even possible to launch devmode in emuNAND) with SysUpdater. Not bothering me, I'm here to help!

If you're using an O3DS just update emuNAND via system settings. If you're using an N3DS, look at my instructions above to update via SysUpdater.

It's an old model. After i entered GW mode i can just update the firmware from the pop up?
I'd recommend making an emuNAND backup with EmuNAND Tool before updating your emuNAND, just in case anything goes wrong.

Don't update from the pop-up, always update from system settings.

Enter system settings and make sure you are in emuNAND. Don't leave the system settings or you will be booted back into sysNAND. From system settings go to other settings and press the arrow on the right a few times until you see system update. Select it and it will update your emuNAND to the latest version. Be sure you're using the latest Gateway launcher!

Ok. You know Murphy's law? Yeah, that totally happened.
I don't know what went wrong, I've did everything like you said, BobDole, and now it just doesn't boot emunand!
When I select "gateway mode" from the menu, it goes black like usual, but then does this thing, like, the screen lights on for a second then shuts off again while doing a "tch" sound, and then it boots me back at sysnand! What the f...!!

Nothing strange happened while I was using SysUpdater, but this happened instead: I downloaded the latest firmware for the gateway card,
and put the "launcher.dat" in the sd card. The instruction on the gateway site said to just select "gateway mode" to start the update, but it din't happen to me. I just thought that maybe my friend already did the update and continued on with SysUpdater.

Now I hope I can solve this mess, or my friend is probably gonna kill me...

If you made a backup with EmuNAND Tool, you can just restore the emuNAND to its previous state. The Gateway cart won't necessarily be updated with a new launcher.dat. Only certain updates actually update the cart. Was the updated emuNAND working before you updated the Gateway cart?

I am looking for a sd card for my N3ds I just bought. I read some people use adapters with micro sd cards. I think I found some nice (cyber Monday) deals on amazon. I'd like a 64 or 128gb probably. These are what I found so far.

http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro...TF8&qid=1448899968&sr=8-2&keywords=64+sd+card
http://www.amazon.com/SANTIN-128GB-...8&qid=1448900183&sr=8-10&keywords=128+sd+card
http://www.amazon.com/Micro-128GB-A...8&qid=1448900156&sr=8-19&keywords=128+sd+card
http://www.amazon.com/PNY-Elite-Per...&qid=1448900571&sr=1-1&keywords=64+gb+sd+card

I only looked a few minutes. Let me if there are better deals or what I should go for please.

Oh my god. Oh My F****** God.
I forgot to do the backup for the emunand.
I... I... I!!!

...If someone out there wants to insult me, go on. I deserve it.

At least good thing my friend has a backup... I'll just have to ask to bring it to me...
As for your question, I kinda did both at the same time. I've put the launcher.dat and everything else in just one go, and I was thinking of first updating the card then the emunand. But as I said, an update prompt din't appear, and I just thought that it was already updated...

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a wall to destroy.
