Yes you are correct, the game freezes since you don't have the job unlocked yet, but here, try this:

On another note, here's a revised offsets for character levels:
Tiz's Level Offsets - 0xBFFA ~ 0xBFFE
Agnes' - 0xC582 ~ 0xC586
Ringabel - 0xCB0A ~ 0xCB0E
Edea - 0xD092 ~ 0xD096
And these are their current selected jobs:
Tiz - 0xBFF9
Agnes - 0xC581
Ringabel - 0xCB09
Edea - 0xD091
It's possible to retain the selected jobs even if they do not have the right asterisk for it, it doesn't really break anything even on a new save
I could be wrong though, but so far they work
I've got no clue how the bytes are represented though

I tried with 0.6 and like the last person said it froze because spiritism somehow got put into the the job command for everyone except ringabel when its not unlocked yet. i tried with .06b and the job command thing seems to be fixed but when you go into support abilities the game freezes.
EDIT: problem seems to be the max money is making the game freeze, when left unchecked everything works.

- Maxing out character jobs will now auto reset the currently equipped support abilities and job command to nothing.
- Money values are changed to a different values which should also give 9,999,999pg anyway but for fixing's sake
Only problem I have with this is jobs are somehow equipped differently, like Tiz is using Conjurer when I don't have that unlocked yet..

Can confirm it works even without the asterisk key items which was also interesting for me since I tried just having the key asterisks in my inventory before but they never unlock the jobs, it was probably unlock only through defeating the job bosses.
Nevertheless it's still a good find

But they seem to work really differently, they don't just take the values of the items and put them into the weapon slot but they have their own specific values once equipped..
