Not sure if this counts as a noob issue but here goes:

Using WiiFLow, ISO files (because I used to use dolphin), Mac computer - near impossible to convert ISO to wbfs, NTSC-U Wii
Problem - Can't load PAL games in desired language (French if it helps)

Trying to load my PAL games in french, however I have to force the video to be NTSC to be able to play. If I had the video format as PAL 50 or 60 the game language is change-able but the screen jumps too much to even attempt anything. When the video format is forced NTSC The game stays English, even if I change the system language, WiiFlow Language and Default game language. Tried Attempting with GX but I can't even get it to read my ISO's. Side note, my Disk drive is busted so I can't try any form of ripping. I'd appreciate some help, Thanks in advance

Update - Fixed it myself if you have the same isssue look into your game specific boot options

I posted this orginally as a thread, but I don't have very much knowledge about the subject so I'll post it here too, if anybody feels it should belong in one place more than the other feel free to let me know.
From my understanding, the best method to edit a Wii save data is through Xyzzy, but I can't find a working download link to Xyzzy, is FE100 (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/FE100) the best method to do this? If so, can anybody help me with obtaining Xyzzy? The download link on this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/xyzzy-wii-key-extractor.118177/ doesn't work, it redirects to the main page but nothing downloads.

Hello, guys. I've been reading a lot of articles and topics, but im still a bit confuse about how i should update my Wii. I bought it already softmodded and it came on 4.2U with uLoader and Homebrew Channel on version 1.0.6. Should i use Pimp My Wii or Modmii (with .csv of syscheck) to update it?

Everything is working through uLoader and i'm worried to brick it unnecessarily. I was wanting to run WiiFlow on it because of plugins and emulators, but when i tried these days to open it, all i see is empty buttons and can't load anything. I thinking im missing some cIOS, not sure about it.

By the way, i didn't set up a WiFi connection on it as it's on 4.2U and i was worried about automatic updates to 4.3U.

why would you need iso56? playing retail games? else you won't need ios56.
you mean ios58? right, it is not allowed to post links to copyrighted materials here.
or you mean a ciso with base 56? use modmii or d2x cIOS Installer v3.1 (Will only)

Hi PauloAfir

download the standard wads using modmii- http://filetrip.net/wii-downloads/homebrew/download-modmii-latest-f33046.html
main menu then '4' for cIOS downloads

don't worry about the slot as you can use showmiiwads- http://filetrip.net/wii-downloads/tools-utilities/download-showmiiwads-1-4-f33211.html
open then right click your wad and choose 'change IOS slot' - ignore following warning and enter the slot number you want :)

good luck

Thanks man, that worked for me, just need to use wii flow for some games like Zelda MM.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the output path of Accio Hacks or, better yet, change where Nintendont looks for GCTs?

Currently Accio Is on my SD and outputs there. Nintendont won't find the GCT there though, since it looks for the file on USB instead of SD.

Basically I want to NOT need to open up Wii Xplorer and transfer the file every time.

I see the "Cheat Path" option in Nintendont but it doesn't seem to do anything. I see no files in the apps folder that I can edit for this purpose. I'm stumped. Help please?

Any help would be extremely appreciated

So, I just bought something from nds-card and got to a page saying "Your payment has been submitted,
we will immediately determine if your payment is received."
And it didn't do anything else for 3 hours now.
Is it possible that I did something wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.

(Sorry if it's not the right place to post this, I'm new to the site)

Hi guys quick question I just bought a newer wii (RVL101) I know it has no support for gamecube or memory cards, can I still use nintendont and play gamecube games from that? Also worried about saving them if there is a way to prevent save corruption from emulating the memory card for gamecube games?

I need help.

My Wii is on 4.3U and my hombrew version was 1.1.2
I had a couple of cIOS installed for using Configurable USB Loader to play Wii games.

Problem: Everything was working fine until this morning. This morning I got on to play a game on the usb loader and as soon as the app launched the system froze. This isn't uncommon. It happens sometimes, I understand that. But it freezes everytime I launch it. Also, upon further investigation it freezes on EVERY APP that I launch. I have scoured google and could find no help at all. Also, I have tried to completely uninstall homebrew and reistall it fresh, but to no avail. PLEASE HELP!!

Hey guys,

I've gotten a lot of help from your tutorials and everything and have had a lot of success getting my wii to run homebrew channel, a ton of apps, and both gamecube and wii backups.

However, I have a question:

I use WiiFlow primarily for loading my cube backups through nintendont, and they are stored on an 8 gb usb device that's not formatted in any special way with WBFS partitions or anything. They're simply in a games folder in the root of the usb.

However, I've got more backups of cube games that I want to play eventually, but I don't have any more space on that particular usb, so I put the rest of them on a new 8 gb usb device in the exact same way as the first, but when I go into wiiflow and go to the cube section, it still shows the games and their covers from the other usb device, and continues to even when I reload the cache, hoping it would update to the new games I have on the new usb device. I can still load the other, older game backups from the first usb I loaded when I put it back into the port, but the newer usb and new backups seem to not register at all.

I've tried reformatting the device and creating a wbfs partition with the new cube backups on it, but even through other apps such as nintendont and neogamma I still can't get the cube games to load.

Does anyone have any light to shed on this or could point me in a reasonable direction?

BTW, I have usb loader gx, the latest version, and have not had any luck getting cube backups to load on it whatsoever, but wii backups load ok.

Thanks.

WiiFlow caches the games. Go to the menu and select "reload cache".

Hi all. I have a question. I have an original Wii v3.4U I found buried in my basement. Anyways, I have a modchip in it that I installed in 2007. All I can find is info for soft modding. This is great and easy. But what about my physical modchip. I just want the Homebrew Channel.

TLDR; Do I ignore my physical modchip and update firmware to v4.2 and do all the soft mods? I don't want to brick my Wii.

Edit: I used ModMii or HackWii or whatever it is. Just a softmod and it works, woot.

Hello, I'm a super Wii n00b seeking wisdom from the Wii Hacking Masters of this forum.

I've done my research on which way to go about this and I've decided I want to use uneek for the full emulation to protect real nand.
I want uneek to boot up from bootmii. I want my games(Wii, GC, VC, Wiiware) to be selectable as Wii channels and launch the game like that. I want to have my games in .wbfs format. I want HBC on emulated nand.

When I install Bootmii, Do I need to select prepare SD card, first?
Is the DI part of uneek+DI that game selector in text format in the disc channel I've seen on youtube videos?
I understand I need neek2o to use .wbfs. I do not want to click on a channel to boot into emulated environment. I want to boot into the emulated environment from boot 2. How do I install neek2o?
Which uses less space, disc ex format or wbfs format?
How do I create Wii channels for each game on my hard drive? I do not want to use that text based game selector in the disc channel I've seen on youtube.
How do I install HBC on emulated nand?
When running HBC on emulated nand, can I simply access apps as long as they're in the apps folder on my sd card?

Hi there,
Since this is the noob section and I don't want to make a new topic, is there a way to modify the wii mini? I know it doesn't have a sd slot, but is there a way to open a file from usb?

Tnx
