ROM Hack Just found a CIA of SmileBASIC (Petit Computer 3D), and I have some questions

1. What's the minimum firmware required to run it?

2. Can it be spoofed to work on 4.X?

It should work on 4.x but it might not...
anyway there is no risk in installing a 7.x app on 4.x so you could just try and see if it works.

It showed the infinite Nintendo 3DS loading screen, and when launched with BigBlueMenu, it was a black screen

If your on 4.x you should update to 9.2 or use update emunand to 9.7

How do I update it to 9.0? I don't have a Gateway cart, by the way

If your using CFW try using a cart to update, then use Cubic Ninja to use the new PastaCFW it should work, otherwhise you could try some tools that allow you to make CIA's 4.x compatible, but as I have never done this you'll have to do some googling for this first.

Alright. Final question:

I own SSB4. I can't use NinjHAX on it because it doesn't update the browser version.
Do you know what the browser version for 8.1 is?

Honestly no idea but you could probably google it...

Just searched a bit seems to be v4096
You could try installing that CIA with your current CFW I guess, but as I don't want to be resposible if something goes wrong (as in you cannot exploit you system anymore) you should try at your own risk, or ask more advanced users.

Note that 3.0.0 (the first released version) is really buggy and crashes a lot, and you need an NNID to upload/download programs, so you won't be able to do much on 4.x.

I'm also having issues with this rom (USA)(my 3DS is EUR) - infinite loading screen. I'm using rxTools, I have newest emuNAND and 4.x NAND. I've tried using FW spoofing in SimpleCIA, tried with trimming and without, but no results. Have you any ideas what could be wrong?

some roms just dont work. find another version of it on some iso site. have you installed any cias to your emunand? replaced health and safety app with fbi?

O fcourse I did. I've FBI app installed with rxTools (I've restored H&S after doing it) and I was installing it to my emuNAND ("SD" in FBI). Actually I had similar situation with Flipnote Studio 3D (JAP) - it gives me an error message when trying to launch it. Maybe I have somthing messed up in my rxTools/emuNAND. Anyway I'll search for another rom.

i have had many roms not work as well. its really just hit and miss. just delete stuff that doesnt work. keep mental notes on what you have already tried too!
