Only the build from 29-09 and before works on my O3DS (9.2.0-20U, PastaCFW, .cia format), anybody else?
9-30 works for me. I'm using the same setup as you.

Anyone know the max dB I can set retroarch to? I don't wanna blow the speakers:). Tried 10 so far

You're right, I keep changing the 29 and 30 versions all the time

Picodrive is faster. It was made for the PSP. Also I think the speeds are the same with .3dsx and .cia for this one, so feel free to try it out.
This is nitpicking, but Picodrive is faster because it was specifically made for ARM processors. It was available for a range of ARM machines before it was ported to the MIPS-based PSP. As a result, it has a whole load of ARM-specific optimisations that have only recently been enabled. Hence the recent speed increase.

Genesis Plus GX is ported from the PPC-based Wii/GameCube version (which in turn is a port from another format). It is more accurate owing to the power granted by the Wii. The inaccuracies in Picodrive are occasionally noticeable (the sound effect after the SEGA logo in Sonic 3D, for example), but I generally prefer using Picodrive because it was designed for ARM in the first place.

Also, Picodrive runs 32X games. Genesis Plus GX runs Game Gear games. So both are needed.

I grew up with only Nintendo systems. The only 32X game that I know of is Knuckles Chaotix. What other games are there for the system that are worth playing?

It's not as bad a system as people make it out to be.

Virtua Racing Deluxe, Virtua Fighter, Star Wars Arcade, Doom, Chaotix, After Burner 2, Space Harrier, Darxide are all great. It also has the best version of Mortal Kombat 2 of that generation.

Space Harrier and After Burner 2 were the first near-arcade perfect version of those games. Virtua Racing and Virtua Fighter are better than the Saturn versions of those games. Doom has a good framerate but unfortunately had some levels cut - there's a hacked version of the rom that re-adds those cut levels back in. Mortal Kombat 2 utilises the extended colour pallet to make the colours far better than the regular 16-bit version.

Radius4 and aliaspider should be given access to edit this thread's first post.
I could do it. If they ask.
I can give access to both of them, if you agree with it, or you prefer users to ask you to do the updates?
if it's ok, give me all the usernames you trust and I'll add them to edit right.

Asking again, is there audio on gpsp or it will be will be added later?
Also good job to whoever did this emu, all games i have run on full speed except 1 but its playable.

Pokemon ruby - without vsync 80 to 92 fps
Dbz buu's fury - 70 fps menu, ingame 50 fps
Sonic advance - 49 to 73 fps, at nights level it drops ti 49 but still playable.

Haven't tried other heavy games, probably dbz game is one of them.
Good job again.

I noticed even on n3ds that 3dsx version of pcsx gets extremely low framerate. Just use the cia version or don't try at all unfortunately. 3dsx version gets any 10-20 FPS and cia gets average of 30-60 FPS. Night and day difference

That's not an option for a lot of people.

Yeah which unfortunately sucks.. Maybe the new exploit by smea will help this out a lot : 3

Hopefully DSP will help emulation like brave fencer musashi. That game plays fine for game play. But the story heavy speech is jaggedy and achieves 30 sometimes 15.

I once heard somewhere about the idea of being able to use dynarec on .3dsx but it probably wasn't an official dev announcement or anything. Would be very useful in bringing the .3dsx performance of PCSX up to speed with .cia though.

You can even use it on the latest firmwares with gspwn.

There are two reasons why dynarec isn't available to .3dsx users.

1) It requires firmware 9.2 or below, and those users can already use .cia as they can use a CFW.
2) *hax 2.0+ doesn't support it anyway, only older 1.0-1.1 does.

Adding it to .3dsx would only help the small subset of users using 9.2 or below, still using *hax 1.1 and refusing to use .cia for some reason. If you're on 9.2 or below, install a CFW.
