Unfortunately it's really not that easy. Everyone could ask Nintendo to do a localisation of a game, but everyone wants something different, and they aren't necessarily the ones who decide whether or not a game releases in another region, it's usually the developers/publishers/whoever decides to localise it. Unless a huge amount of people demand for something, they would see no need to fit to a (very) small demographic, especially considering it may not be very profitable for them to do so. That's why fan translations such as this very one exist.

Shouldn't we just ask Nintendo politely to do this for us? Or ask then to release a maplestory 3ds mmorpg? Would they do that?
Nintendo's reply: "Of course we'll translate that game if a random guy asks us to do so, we have actually nothing better to do."*

*Never happening lulz.

Big News!

Iv'e finally found the files that contain the text dialogue and found something very interesting. The files contain place holders for both Korean and Japanese, with the Korean dialogue from the original release still there. So that would mean theirs some type of code that is a switch to where one could switch between languages. And when I looked further down I saw some empty place holders titled "English". This could mean that it was (or is) planned for the game to have a English release.
Sample of what I mean bellow:
Code:
    <row id="0024">
        <comment>BattleMage/NotMetTaeGong/03</comment>
        <language name="Japanese">この岩には人工的なくぼみがあるのね。
不思議だわ。</language>
        <language name="Korean">이 바위는 꼭 누가 만들어 놓은 것 같은 홈이 있네.
신기하다.</language>
        <language name="English"></language>
    </row>

the DS maple history also have it , I was on a tried to start project ... so I ave a look on the rom, there are Japanse, Korean and also " english" files, I don't know if really there or just placeholder ? I have no idea how to mess with the codes to make the game read the " englsh" instead of the JP and I wasn't up to rename everyting just to try hahahah

But after 3 year, I think they already gave up the idea.
Don't eman that it's not possible to start a new one o3o

For those interested I did a bit of digging on the name of the protagonist. In one of the trailers for this game, her name is "보리", which is Korean for Barley. Barley is "大麦", which is Oumugi, Take out the Ou and it's Mugi, which is Wheat. About as close as it gets. If your 3DS is Japanese, you can input "むぎ". Hax users are left with "Mugi". While I can't confirm that her official Japanese name is Mugi (nothing hints at it, site just uses a placeholder name), it's the closest I can think of.

I posted this in another MapleStory translation topic. Hoping to get an answer here

So guys I'm curious to know since theres been so many topics about the English translation I'm curious how it currently stands after all these years.

Is it finished? Like 100% or at least close to it?

Also are there any plans to translate the 3DS game?

Did the DS game ever get finished with translating? No one seemed to give me a clear answer about that and I'm sorry for this game being stopped prematurely.
