Currently no. It is possible that someone comes along and hacks into the game's controls, but that would be quite complicated. I doubt it will happen.

Is it possible to play Zelda SS with another controller than the wiimote + motion plus ?

I really don't like to play with the wiimote

No. the only thing I would recommend would be to use official remotes and official motion plus adapters (if older remote)
If you do not, you may get a message telling you to use a motion plus, which when that happens on my Nyko Wand+, it is funny as it already has built-in motion plus.
So the game wants me to use a Wii Remote with motion plus plus then :tpi:

Could anyone who has the knowledge write a tutorial on how it would be possible in theory? I'm sure there would be many people capable of achieving the task only they don't know where to start. I'm sure many (including me) are put off playing some games because we hate having to use batteries and our connections on the wii remote are dodgy. I like the idea of hacking games to at least allow for gamecube controller compatibility.

I don't think it would be possible, simply because of how heavily the game relies on motion controls. You have to attack certain enemies with the sword in a certain way, which adds a lot of complexity to battles that is rather unique to Skyward Sword. I found it annoying at times because I had to be so precise, but overall I liked it.

At the moment you can't due to the game needing motion controls. Now with that being said, I'm sure it won't be too difficult to go into the ISO and edit it as if it to detect another controller.

Did you even give it a chance? Believe me I was the same way, but I told myself to stick it out for a couple hours. The game is too good to miss out just because of motion controls. Just power through it.
