Well, as you probably know it was actually meant to come out at the end of 2006, and then early 2007, but now I've heard a ton of random release dates, like in June, July, and October. Anybody know from a good source the actual release date (AS OF NOW)?

It doesn't matter when it comes out for me. If they delay it that just means they are trying to perfect it. I was impatient for Resident Evil 4 but now I'm glad they delayed it! Nintendo knows what they're doing, maybe the longer the delay, the better the game we get...

Which GBA zelda game should I play?

Well as far as I can remember, there is only one original Zelda game for GBA: The Minish Cap, and it's great so play it. Then there's the SNES port A Link To The Past which is an absolute classic plus in comes with Four Swords which is about the most fun I've had in a Zelda game. Plus I would highly recommend the Oracle of Ages/Seasons games for GBC, they can be played on a gba and they're incredible. I think there's some sort of pattern here......Zelda = Amazing

As for Phantom Hourglass, waiting probably does mean the game is better but that doesn't mean it's bearable. I just hope Nintendo doesn't go and gimmick it up by falling victim to all of DS's fancy gadgets

I wasn't aware that Nintendo said they "started again". (source?)

So the game shown in all the previous media is now scrapped? Not that this would bother me much, as I frankly am not too impressed with the environments shown so far. Sure, they were 3D, but artistically it looked like a big step back from Minish Cap...

PS: Joystiq reported in Dec. that PH has been delayed until at least October. None of these dates are set in stone, but the June date is highly unlikely.
