all of themIts hard to follow the development of all the different CFW out there. Just wondering if there is any reason to give one a shot if I already have Gateway running on my N3DS ofw 9.2 running emunand.
or CakesFW.The best cfw are rxTools for Old3DS and reiNand for New3DS
Gateway is TECHNICALLY obsolete due to CFW running rampant, however as a gateway user, its nice to have a microSD with games as well. Lack of GBA/DSi support sucks, but hey, I have several other systems I can play those on so no biggie. Its hard to follow the development of all the different CFW out there. with cfw it's like the gateway classic mode, but with all the goodies. you can call it super classic mode. you can run .CIA, run your retail cards, and etc. I'll probably however jump back onto gateway once they have in game cheat codes. the cheat plugin for cfw NTR 3.0 is too complicated for me. :/
reinand makes gateway obsolete on n3ds. why? cause it has mset and rop, making it bootable from sysettings and needing cn or zelda/gw only once.
after you set everything up, it becomes almost a perfect cfw (no need for internet or other games to boot, emunand, every game works
just follow usernametaken tutorial to set it up:

nope, since mset and rop doesn't work on o3ds. on o3ds I guess the best option is rxtools due to it's activity and emunand support. probably mset and rop will be supported (if they are not already)i really wanna try this on my og3ds which is on fw 5.x , will that tut work for the og3ds too ?
i actually asked cause i am afraid to mess my almost perfect n3ds now, i am able to play all the games i have installed on my emunand.nope, since mset and rop doesn't work on o3ds. on o3ds I guess the best option is rxtools due to it's activity and emunand support. probably mset and rop will be supported (if they are not already)
use only a browser to enter cfw is much better than using zelda/cubic ninja in my opinion
Like you, I have a gateway and never learned to install any cfw. Until there is a cfw that runs as easily as my gateway I don't think I'll be taking the time to learn it.Its hard to follow the development of all the different CFW out there. pasta cfw has one button to press and makes my red card uselessLike you, I have a gateway and never learned to install any cfw. Until there is a cfw that runs as easily as my gateway I don't think I'll be taking the time to learn it.
Gateway is CFW, all it does is load 3DS files. All that cfw stuff is nice and useful for people that didn't invest in a flashcart before all this cfw stuff was possible. My gateway can load 3DS roms, and run the homebrew launcher. I don't need much more. I have a DS lite with slot1 and slot2 carts for NDS and GBA roms.
Pasta CFW requires you to drag 3 files over to the SD cardUntil there is one that can run .3ds files (also ease of use and setup which cfw is not)
So no imo
