Nope. The latest file works great. Thanks to Mass and Zap_RowsDower for their patience. I'm able to run CFW on sysNAND with 1.1b payload and the 2.1 Ninjhax 3dsx. emuNAND runs Homebrew again on 9.5 with the newest Ninjhax (obviously, which is what I wanted).

So obviously you want to make sure you have already loaded Ninjhax 1.1b before, then simply replace the 1.1b 3dsx file in the root with this one https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/boot.3dsx

After which, you should just be able to load the same Homebrew files or newer via Cubic Ninja using the 1.1b payload. This is especially useful if you just updated your emuNAND to 9.5, and can no longer access 1.1b Ninjhax (but have CIA installers on your emuNAND). It makes booting CN off of a CIA on emuNAND to load 2.1 Homebrew easy.

It's in my post. I had it all explained to me. While yes, you could section off your files, it would require altering the payload to find a different directory. That can get messy. Smea made 2.1 backwards compatible with the 1.1b payload, meaning a simple swap of 3dsx files and you're running the newest everything, and can get Ninjhax back on 9.3+ emuNANDs.

Crazy, but yes! You need to have loaded 1.1b once and booted up Homebrew. That gives you the payload you need for sysNAND. Then just swap the 3dsx files out, and viola! You can run Cakes and ReiNand (from what I've tested so far) off of that. Then in emuNAND make sure you choose whatever FW you're on at the Ninjhax 2.1 site when loading the CN CIA, and again, viola. You have 2.1 on emuNAND and 1.1b capabilities on sysNAND (assuming you have 9.0-9.2 FW for a N3DS).

This is getting RALLY confusing.

Can someone please explain this to me?
Can the official boot.3dsx file now boot both versions of Ninjhax?
What are these custom builds being posted here for?

Yes and no. If you've loaded Cubic Ninja on a 4.5-9.2 firmware, used Ninjhax 1.1b on said firmware, then replaced the 3dsx file with the newest 2.1 Ninjhax, you will be able to run backwards compatible. The custom builds were originally what I THOUGHT I wanted, but with the explanation that the newest Ninjhax 2.1 can run the payload of 1.1b thus creating compatibility with CFWs (Pasta, ReiNand and Cakes from what I've tested).

its working like @kontrolaltdelete said...
load cubic ninja on sysnand using ninjhax 1.1, it will install CN xploit... run it once...
delete the ninjhax 1.1 on sd card and replace the 2.1 ninjhax...
go to emunand, load NH 2.1 using youtube or ironfall... run it once...

then you have now:
NH 1.1 on sysnand
NH 2.1 on emunand
at the same time with only one boot.3dsx

im tryin to run ironhax but nothing seems to load all i get is black/red screens....

i used the youtube hax to install ironhax

O3DS XL 9.9 USA

I don't understand how you misinterpreted what this thread is about. If you're running emuNAND in 9.9, that's something else. Are you? If so, I can guide you through. If it's sysNAND 9.9 you're out of luck for a while. Also, as I was told, Ironhax and Tubehax cannot currently utilize 1.1b payload.

Could you explain how I can run both please?

I'm on N3DS 9.9 sysnand and 9.5 emunand and I can't seem to get into my reinand emunand with the 2.1 boot.3dsx file. I get an error when using the ds profile exploit and if I try and run it through directly through ninjhax 2.1 it just gives me a blank screen.

Let me get this straight. I'm on 9.0 firmware, and using Ninjhax 1.1 so that I can run CFW. Are you saying that if I simply swap the "boot.3dsx" file for the Ninjhax 2.1 version, I get the added speed benefits of 2.1, with the compatibility of 1.1? Or, are you saying that I can use the Ninjhax 2.1 methods (TubeHax) to run my 1.1 "boot.3dsx", and be able to launch my CFW without needing the Cubic Ninja cart? Either way, that's an awesome improvement, and I'd like to do that. I just need to make sure what I'm doing first.

Yes and no. Here's a step by by step while answering your questions.

1) Make sure you're on 9.2 sysNAND or below. Pretty important, but alot of new guys don't get this.

2) Go to the original Ninjhax (a simple search on Google for "Ninjhax 1" will bring you to the right page - it's the first link) and follow the instructions. Get Ninjhax 1.1 up and running on your 3DS. Install CFWs, CIA installers, the whole nine yards.

3) Follow any one of the numerous guides on GBATemp to creating an emuNAND, linked, unlinked afterwards. Pretty important as well. This step by step assumes you have an emuNAND higher than 9.2 with a sysNAND lower than or equal to 9.2. Otherwise it's pointless.

Alright, so we're done with all that. Next you're going to want to Google "Ninjhax 2" and click the appropriate link.

4) Download the 3dsx file alone. No point in the starter pack. Or maybe you want updated apps. Whatever. You understand.

5) Replace the 3dsx file on your SD card with the the one you just downloaded.

It's as simple as that. As long as you install (follow the steps per usual on Smea's site) Ninjhax 2.1 on your emuNAND, you'll have both on working (Ninjhax 1.1 on sysNAND and 2.1 on emuNAND). This useful tidbit of info is what I gleaned from Zap_Rowsdower. Also from him (and to finally answer your question) no. Ironhax and Tubehax will not work. They don't load the 1.1 payload that you originally installed on your sysNAND (you didn't try installing 2.1 over top of 1.1, right? That'd mess it up. You need the 1.1 CN save payload to make it boot with the new 3dsx file from 2.1). As cool as that'd be, it's no dice for now.

It is nice having Ninjhax working on both systems however.

I tried these exact steps and after running the exploit it said there was an error 'does boot.3dsx exist?'

Nevermind, somehow got it working now lol
