Koei Tecmo Bringing an Attack on Titan Game to Playstation

dZk3Z5i.jpg

In the latest issue of the Attack on Titan manga, it was revealed that Koei Tecmo would be bringing an Attack on Titan game to Playstation. Due to the popularity of this series in the west, it seems highly likely that we'll be receiving this game in English. The reveal does not specify which Playstation platform the game will be on, but the Playstation 4 seems like the obvious choice.

Siliconera speculates that the game may have something to do with the teaser site that's been going for the past week that has been teasing a new Omega Force game. This seems likely when you consider the messages that have been posted:

Day 1: "This is not Warriors."
Day 2: "It comes from the beyond."
Day 3: "In a world of fear and despair."
Day 4: "Who can you truly trust?"
Day 5: "Is this world even real?"
Day 6: "With blade in hand, fight on!"
Thanks to Gematsu for the teaser site information

If the teaser site is for this game, it will be officially revealed tomorrow, August 5th.

Oh, great another Dynasty Warriors reskin. There aren't enough of them yet.
Apparently, if the teaser site is for the game, they aren't just aiming for another Warriors title. Honestly, it would be really hard to do with Attack on Titan since your primary enemy is thousands of times stronger than you and upwards of 10+ meters taller.

Koei Tecmo could do a fighting game ala DoA but Omega Force? What a shame they're letting these bottom of the barrel devs handle it. :(

I feel Vita should be included as well, so people who only own a Vita/Vita TV can play the game.
Given the fact that the games target audience will be Japan and the popularity of portable systems there, it being a vita game or having a vita version is pretty likely.

Honestly, I wouldn't say the audience is exclusively Japan here. The teaser site (that I admittedly still can't confirm is for this game) is primarily in English, secondarily Japanese. To me, that implies the game is more aimed at the west than at Japan.

Gonna be all 'tarzan mode' up in this game, no dynasty warriors wannabe.

Added trailer to OP and just received new PR:

Cologne, 5th August 2015- Koei Tecmo Games is pleased to announce today a collaboration with Kodansha to develop and publish an exciting new action title, based on highly acclaimed worldwide anime hit series ‘Attack on Titan’!

Hisashi Koinuma, President of Koei Tecmo Games and head of the "Attack on Titan" game project comments:

"I am very happy to reveal we have started developing a new action game based on the phenomenally successful "Attack on Titan"! Having evolved from a manga/anime series to an internationally recognised brand, we were enchanted by the opportunity to create our own take on humanity’s last stand against these overwhelmingly powerful beings, the Titans.

Although there is still a long wait until this game is released in 2016, ourstudios are already pouring all of their passion and excitement into it and wehope to reveal more information soon!

In the meantime, prepare for battle! The Titans are coming."

The yet-to-be-named game is being developed by Omega Force and is currently planned for release in 2016 in the west.

More information on the title will be made public in the coming weeks.

Weak trailer. It doesn't show gameplay though, just a small cinematic scene.

You're right it didn't show any gameplay but there was like a bajillion characters jumping to attack so one can already see where this is going.

Would be nice to see how the gameplay really is though. The cinematic looks nice, dbz style I guess. I just don't want the game to be hyped and than be a brain fart later.
