Update:
  1. Boot into EmuNAND
  2. Launch CIA installer (you do have one, right?)
  3. Install CIAs of firmware
  4. Restart
  5. Profit
Unlink:
  1. Shut off system
  2. Remove SD card
  3. Turn on system
  4. Settings -> Format
  5. Perform initial setup
  6. Insert SD card
  7. Profit

I'm assuming FBI isn't a suitable CIA installer for this?

Why not? Assuming it's downloaded as a bunch of CIAs from 3DNUS, toss em on the card, go in on EmuNAND, set to NAND and install all.
Issue with FBI and downgrading MSET was that it's an older version which it dislikes. Newer version is A-OK.

The problem is installing FBI into emunand though. I try to install FBI.cia but I get an AM error. What's the way to work around this?

Through Reinand CFW>boot to CN>Homebrew>FBI. I was thinking of installing it with Pasta but wouldn't it install onto sysnand?
Ninjhax 2 can't run FBI, and if you're running it off ReiNAND it's probably 2.
Pasta would go to SysNAND, but depending on how much you care about the EmuNAND, you could recreate it.

Unfortunately, the amount of ways to do things is a tad slim. FBI injection doesn't yet exist for N3DS (to my knowledge) and the only other means I can think of is Gateway which naturally requires their card.

That's my only problem. I don't want to buy a Gateway card just to get a 9.5 emunand. I only need emunand to play games that require 9.3 - 9.5. Pasta's firmlaunch doesn't seem to work for me either. I'm pretty much desperate to get Xenoblade, Smash, etc. to boot.

Pasta's firmlaunch should work just fine. Additionally, due to your statement it seems perfectly valid to install FBI to SysNAND and recreate the EmuNAND.

FBI is installed on my sysnand at the moment. Emunand is up and running through Reinand, the obstacle is getting emunand updated to 9.5.

Well either recreate the EmuNAND or just use ReiNAND as is since it probably is still running firmlaunch.

Does ReiNand automatically work in firmlaunch? I ask because when you try to download cia's you get the AM Error. I use ReiNand to run my EmuNand and I was planning to sysupdate in it but I read under sysupdater "never update while in gateway mode, rxMode, cakes or any other cfw using firmlaunch or you'll likely brick your console."

Needless to say I don't want to brick my console, so I just wanted to know if ReiNand is automatically running firmlaunch. Has anyone used sysupdater while in ReiNand?

Edit - Didn't realize there was a similar conversation going on just above, but I still don't feel like my question is necessarily answered by the previous topic.

That warning is only applied when you update sysnand.
You can use sysupdater with gw, rx, cakes, etc(including rei) if you are updating firmware on emunand.

Ok awesome, so I'm already to update to 9.4 on my EmuNand with Rei (I already separated the EmuNand from sysnand) correct?

But using sysupdater in Reinand will update the emunand firmware to...?

The lastest build is 2.0, isn't it? Ds flashcart still works well on emuNand?
I didn't test a flashcart, I tested a couple of the 153 DS games I own.

But providing you have the whitelist patch installed I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use an older flashcart eg. Gateway's blue card.

Edit: For the sake of being thorough; I tested both my DSTWO and Gateway Blue flashcarts, both seem to be detected just fine. My whitelist has been downgraded, obviously.

The 'Rei' version string will be very helpful. Thanks for the update. :yay:
The July 29th build has the rei prefix before the system version. That's what you're asking, right?

unlinked or linked?
Linked. So they're also installed on my sysNAND obviously (this is, to my knowledge, the only way to have them playable on emuNAND).

Also, to be clear, I'm talking about legit Ambassador GBA games here. I haven't tried any custom VC games.

Very weird considering i didnt add anything to the 30th one.. lol.. just refactored.. maybe its the thread and the keys being weird.. im trying to set them up so they dont accidentally trigger.
How about using a button combo instead? eg. Select + Left on the D-Pad for screen captures, Select + Down on the D-Pad to dump FCRAM.

I was not asking. I was being grateful for the feature when I saw he implemented it. :P
Ah, I see. Re-reading your post, I can see what you meant.

I felt your wording made the sentence unclear and a little ambiguous. Perhaps using "is" instead of "will be" would have been better.
"Will be" can be applied to both present and future events. Whereas "is" in the context of your phrasing can only mean the current implementation of reiNAND.

Anyhow, thanks for the clarification:)
