I wonder.... Let's theoretically say that this will work on 9.9 and then lets say that the game is Pokemon Rumble World...

What would Nintendo do? Would they actually take that game down?

They would probably patch it.

Ah, so maybe take it off, patch it, and then put it back on. I wonder how many people will have the chance to strike before that happens.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if 9.9 people are already screwed. The thing is, though, Smea said straight up that it's perfectly fine to update to 9.9 before Ninjhax 2.0 released, because he tested it and said it worked. For the persistent exploit, it's entirely possible that he must have discovered it after Ninjhax 2.0 came out. What wasn't a good move on his end, was hinting at an eShop game for the new exploit and then saying to wait, because way too many people are going to get the games that he's been leaking to get their systems ready, meaning those people HAD to update to 9.9 if they didn't have the games downloaded before. I'm not bashing Smea or anything, and I absolutely love what he's doing for all of us, but I don't think that was the best way to get people's attention on what he's up to. I honestly have no problem with using Cubic Ninja every time to boot into Ninjhax, though this new exploit would be super convenient. Here's another thing though, a tweet from him said, as a reply to someone else saying that they had to update to 9.9 to even access the eShop, "if it isnt dont blame me, i was pretty clear about the fact that people should wait for instructions..."

Of course it's not Smea's fault, but the way he said it, he must have not tested it on 9.9 at the time just yet. No word about 9.9 had been said officially since then, I don't think. All I'm hoping is that the folks on 9.9 are fine. I updated to 9.9 before Ninjhax 2.0 came out because Smea officially said that it works, and people who were already screwed at 9.8 said "Why not? At least what I want will work."

If this doesn't work on 9.9, so be it. That's like someone posting a brand spanking new and amazing CFW that they made, then people getting mad at it not working on 9.9 because it's apparently new. I'm very excited to know how this persistent exploit works, but all in all, it's not really supposed to affect anyone who can't use it, because everyone can at least USE Ninjhax. It's not anything like ARM9 getting cracked.
Well said!:yaynds:

Personally, I don't have any 3DS. I bought my nephews 2 ODSXL <9.2 (ideally will get them 2 N3DS if I can get either CN or OOT when OOTHax's released). I helped 2 friend with ODSXL <9.2. One of these 2 has both OOT, CN that I can borrow from time to time. Then, I have this other friend who had his N3DS on 9.7 without CN or OOT. Yesterday, I got the news that Smealum hinted as an option to get homebrew launcher with 1 time installation using CN, then no cost homebrew launcher.

I have nothing to complain. I am actually grateful for Smealum work. It's just confusing due to rumor of Pokemon Rumble World & Mario with Photos app from Eshop.

I haven't updated my friend N3DS yet. Still at 9.7. Still haven't gotten Pokemon Rumble World & Mario with Photos. My hand is extremely itchy though.:ha: I guess I need more coffee to keep my mind sober or I'm gonna do something stupid:evil:

Because some of us can't spend $30-$40 on a game...

I can't actually find where Smealum says that 9.9 is breaks the hack. I know he was annoyed with some people updating to 9.9 based off assumptions, but that's not an outright deconfirmation of 9.9 support.

Yeah, I have to agree with you there. Sounds like he hasn't properly tested it on 9.9 and is just stating for the record that if it doesn't work it's not his fault. Standard thing with hackers like "If this bricks your console it's not my fault and absolved of any responsibility."

current ninjhax 2.0 will always work on 9.9, unless smea takes everything down before you could save the hax on your cartridge (correct me if i'm wrong)

It'll always work on 9.9, of course unless he takes it down, but I don't see why he would. It's smart to just leave all the older versions archived in case a new version breaks anything. I'm pretty sure Ninjhax 1.X is still online.

Can someone explain what smea is talking about of both OoThax and FreeHax? If I got it right, OoThax will be like Cubic ninja right now but use OoT instead for everyload. And then you got FreeHax which is somehow needing Cubic ninja once to install it to another app. I understand we have to wait for the new eshop game from him so not asking that.

But what I trying to understand is does any of the 3 going to give different features? Or is it just based on how you enter the HB menu?

They're different methods to the same endpoint that being enabling homebrew with the same features.
