Wait so if the game doesn't have language built into them, can I use this plugin to display language I want?
For example, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate obviously do not have Japanese or Chinese built into it.
If I was to put gamesquest1's Japanese OR Chinese plugins into MH4U's titleID folder, will my MH4U retail cart show Jap or Chinese in my US/Canada N3DS XL?
well the english, japanese and chinese plugins are all cell9's plugins, i just packed them all together to make it a bit easier for people, and even mine are just simple mods of cell9's original ones

but for the languages to work the game has to have the language files in the game for these to work, its just a way for people to access languages in the games that they cant normally as their console doesnt have the option to change to that language in the settings, it doesn't just magically translate the game

I guess I could try out changing the language of the games that is confirmed working (such as Majora's Mask).
Then, I could use your and/or cell9's Japanese plugins in MH4U and see if that works. I know that MH4U exists as MH4G in Japan.
I am not sure if Japanese file is included inside the game because I own US/Canada N3DSXL and I don't see Japanese in game settings.

No, the game must contain the language. This just tells the game which language it should use, it does not add one.

Edit: Too late :S. If you change the language files of the game, wouldnt that break the signature?

well im not 100% sure but i do remember some games had issues in the past of switching to languages that weren't even publicly available on the game and couldnt be access except when entering GW mode with a bugged FW version, such as the EU yoshi's island playing in Japanese.....so while its possible that it may work it will be a very few minor games that actually had the out of region languages locked in the game while the system language could not be set to that language by normal means, but this will probably cover a handful of games at max, the majority of games will not contain hidden language files on them.....and even them im not sure if they where only triggered by GW screwing up and normally the game will not access them even if you do a patch like this that spoofs the game into thinking it is set up for a different region

EDIT: just tested and yeah EU Yoshi's new Island plays in Japanese with the JPN plugin despite Japanese not being a real option for the EU game, so some games will indeed have hidden language options

Since NTR CFW doesn't support 9.8 yet but RegionFour does, can I have use this this plugin with RegionFour or does it have to be with NTR CFW?

I think if Ninjhax 2.0 could achieve Arm11 Kernel, then this should be possible, but I dont know if cell9 has any plans for that.

@cell9 you should add other languages, by example:
European Spanish
American Spanish
European French
American French
European Portuguesse
American Portuguesse
Italian (EUR)
German (EUR)
and so...

with this the plugin will be really complete

I've made the korean file by my self! i found the address and i change both region value and language value with the Korean one.

Edit: no, this file only change the language and no the region. Now i'm going to find a good region value for the korean.

That's how it's supposed to work... It doesn't change the Region only the language, provided it's built in to the game. It does however have an "Easter egg" that allows you to use out-of-region DLC.

Do you know these European/American variations to be languages that are actually available in games, or are you just pulling them out of your arse?

You realise this only allows you to force an existing language to be used, right? It's not some magical game translating Babel Fish that eats English and poops out American French.

Anyhow, @gamesquest1 put together a language plugin pack back in April with support for all the European languages. So that should cover most of what you were after.
ok i decided to test out some more, still missing a few Korean Russian etc, but here are all the languages together up to 11.
additional languages option

langemu_cht.plg - Traditional Chinese
langemu_cn.plg - Sumplified Chinese
langemu_en_us.plg - English (US region)
langemu_en_europe.plg - English (EU region)
langemu_fr_europe.plg - French (EU region
langemu_de_europe.plg - German (EU Region)
langemu_it_europe.plg - Italian (EU Region)
langemu_nl_europe.plg - Dutch (EU Region)
langemu_pt_europe.plg - Portuguese (EU Region)
langemu_sp_europe.plg - Spanish (EU Region)
langemu_jp.plg - Japanese (JPN Region)

cearp not sure if you actually wanted dutch or if you where just using it as an example, but here you go, and yeah NSMB2 actually has 8 languages, but i cant find russian....i "think" the byte im editing just defines the selected language, there is another one which i'm assuming changes character set or something, so i think maybe Russian would need a different character set too to find it
