Off topic here, but I replied to your comment because your profile pic, LOL. twenty one pilots is great, man.AAAAahhhh. you're RIGHT! I shoulda known! it sucks!
I don't think Nintendo will put much more effort into the Wii U... I believe it pretty much is a dead platform already, slowly waiting for its expiration date. What the Wii U needs is some games that actually use the gamepad correctly, like a new Pokemon Snap, or the new Starfox game coming out. I thought Pokemon Snap would have been an easy no-brainer for Nintendo to churn out on the 3DS as well.
Either way, I predict the NX to flop just as hard, where the 3rd party devs yet again bail on the system for a 3rd time. Also, the original Wii launched with a freaking ZELDA TITLE!!! That alone could have saved the launch of the 3DS (Ocarina of Time 3D) and the Wii U! OoT 3D came out mere months after the system launched, which was just shit timing for a 3DS game of that caliber NOT to be a launch title.
Splatoon uses the gamepad well, and I don't regret buying the Wii U. I find the gamepad a tiny bit wide, but at the same time, it's comfortable to game with for hours on end, due to my large hands. my only gripes are that some games require the TV, so i can't play in bed without waking the girlfriend. I also wish the screen had a brightness setting so i could save battery and play longer.I don't think Nintendo will put much more effort into the Wii U... I agree that it lacked commitment from Nintendo, they didn't try to make something out of the hardware they put together. At least they didn't put any effort into it.
The gamepad is an unused piece of big and clunky plastic with a screen. If it was used well and integrated into gameplay it could have given great atmosphere and immersion into games where this kind of experience is important... but those games never existed.
As they didn't use the gamepad for anything special only its horrible bad points will be remembered, so it will always be just a big, clunky annoying piece of plastic with a screen.
Yes, in the gameplay part it is well used in Splatoon.Splatoon uses the gamepad well, and I don't regret buying the Wii U. All the GamePad does in Splatoon is act like a touchscreen and the ability to play with motion sensor activated.. nothing really that impressive nor that the GamePad hasn't done before.Splatoon uses the gamepad well, and I don't regret buying the Wii U. But it works, and works well. when i get splatted, i use the map to help me win by deciding where to jump to before I respawn. Then I tap it, and off I go.All the GamePad does in Splatoon is act like a touchscreen and the ability to play with motion sensor activated.. nothing really that impressive nor that the GamePad hasn't done before.
Pretty simple stuff a traditional controller could do too.But it works, and works well. when i get splatted, i use the map to help me win by deciding where to jump to before I respawn. Then I tap it, and off I go.
No other controllers have a screen on them with a map you can physically point to. o.oPretty simple stuff a traditional controller could do too.
It'd be a lot more useful to have the fucking map on the TV than the damn GamePad and while DS4 doesn't have a low quality SD screen as the GamePad, it does however have touchscreen and motion sensor. No other controllers have a screen on them with a map you can physically point to. o.o
