***UPDATE! MENU PATCH v1 RELEASED!***

Downloads
ROM Patcher v1
NTR CFW Plugin v1

Installation:

Rom Patcher method:

Use the readme.txt in the download

NTR CFW method:
1. You need to get NTR_CFW + RegionFree-Plugin + LayeredFS-Plugin (1.1 for 3DS, 2.2 for N3DS).

2. Download our Patch and extract the content to the Root of your SD Card.

3. Start NTR_CFW on your 3DS (MSET-Exploit, Spider-Exploit or Cubic Ninja Exploit) or on your N3DS (Cubic Ninja Exploit).

4. Start "Fire Emblem If - Special Edition" (Retail Cartridge or eShop Version, both will work).

5. While the 3DS - Logo screen, the top-screen should blink in green for ~0.5seconds (like in the Video).

6. Your Game is temporary patched! You can play our Translation!

It's for real! Most in-game combat menus have been translated so the game is 100% playable in english, however only the story of the first two chapters has been translated.

For any and all releases, head over to this thread.

What's the point? The game was already announced for the west.
this project won't be finished before the western release, I can guarantee that. It'll be a waste of time for a little bit earlier as the menus don't really need the translation, it's the story, the menu is navigable if you've played alot of FE before

Because some people (like me) imported the game and don't understand a lot of the menu and stuff. There's also a huge possibility the game will get censored since there are some pretty lewd clothing for a couple of classes (Bravely Default, anyone? Or that censored DLC with Tharja's bikini CG?). Not to mention possible dialogue changes from the localization team that seems awkward and weird like Awakening's (but that's probably just me).

How would the fanmade team make the dialogue phrased less awkwardly? They do it more like direct translating than the localisation team in my opinion.

This is pretty much it, along with
It's just for the incredibly impatient.

I'd beg to differ -- all the menu text is already translated (and two story chapters are done completely). There are four or five chapters almost-done, too, but they're on the backburner until the menu patch gets released.

We're reading over text and making it less awkward where we can.

Here's an image of the patcher, by the way, should be pretty easy to use (it's internally just a really modified copy of 3ds builder that uses makerom to generate a .cia after it makes the relevant .cxi, if it's not building a .3ds.)):

Well, there have been plenty of FE fan-translations and I really liked FE12's fan-translation. Ah well, let them do what they want. Besides, the majority of 3DS owners won't be able to use this patch. :P

I've yet to play a Fire Emblem game, so I can't say I'm a fan of the franchise. That said, I don't think anyone outside of the project members can claim it's a waste of time. I mean, the project is a community effort full of great fans that just want to put a translation out there for other fans to enjoy while the game gets localized.

I think it's safe to assume the community working on this project are doing so at their discretion, on their own time. So, I think it's disrespectful to claim it's a waste of time when it's not really our place to say so. That said, the game apparently won't be released until 2016, so that's still ways off.

Personally, I think it's great and there's been some great progress! :)

importing is usually for collection purposes or for games who are only released in Japan. The game is literally not that far off from a western release since it was released in Japan not long ago.

I do actually think this is a waste of time especially since they could direct their efforts into games who are never going to make it to the west, such as Dragon Quest games and others.

no one is insulting the community by saying its a waste of time. It is their time and they can use it to do whatever the hell they want, but I and others were only giving out an opinion.

The only thing that I can think of that will definitely be a bit annoying are the support conversations (and maybe the weapon descriptions). I mean, there's a lot, after all. :P
Are you guys translating both games? What about DLC content?
Yes, they are translating both routes. Not sure about DLC content though.

The item/skill/character descriptions are menu text...and all menu text is already done, as I said before.

This game will be certainly heavily censored.
- the girl who faints during battle when seeing girls too cute and wants to be cured from that
- cousin relationships considered as incest by American standards
- face rubbing minigame
- fan service ...

This project might actually provide the sorely needed uncensored translation of the game that won't be in the official localization.

But please avoid attention from shitty blogs and sites like kotaku, they covered Dragon Quest 7 3DS fan-translation script injection starting and "contacted Square for their opinion" and got it cancelled before the project got even its first screenshoots and formal announcement.
They hate fan projects and delight in exposing them and getting them cancelled. And they hate this game too and call it a pedo game and throw around all sorts of wild accusations.
Considering this one conflicts potentially with an official release, it's a dangerous possibility and the patch will be probably be needed considering Nintendo heavily censored games very recently for far less. Please avoid having too much from their attention like the guy behind the Metroid Super x Fusion did to save his project when they covered it (declining "interviews" and marking forum threads as private to let their attention divert, then going back to normal)

It's mean to call this a waste of time. The release date in the US is December 31 2016 according to amazon (of course that's just a placeholder, but still). I'm all for people playing this game translated by fans as long as they're willing to play it in what could be considered an "alpha" phase. It's comparable to playing an early access game. Sure, the full game will be better and more full featured, but someone who's extremely interested in the game may want to play a somewhat stripped-down version. Besides, there are plenty of censorship issues that can be solved with fan projects like this.

I looked forward to the full translation in order to play it in original context but I am still excited to play the official release. I just hope by that time it is fully translated I have find ways to play it.

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously

Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling

even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term
