just because their dumping the games doesn't mean they can be played. they were dumping ps3 games years before any exploits were possible. dumping the games is the easy part.

No, but it's surprisingly well timed considering I was told in December that the ODE was finished and was being sent out to testers. 1 and a half months is a pretty reasonable time frame.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same "software team" was involved with both "hardware teams".

BBB is not some unknown group, just like VENOM and ABSTRAKT before, and it seems reasonable to believe this is new hardware as there is no 'glory' in getting someone's old dumper, it's also not some mislabled 3DS release: 12374.6MB [44F]

[...] nvm ModChip Central guy just seems to be posting a lot.

Anyhow, there indeed seems to be another delay, it was supposed to be done in February. My pre-order place didn't get any official news, this time yet.
But the WiiKey Team seem to have delayed the first shipments before on their products.

More common practice is not to sell such things until you get proof that they will ever be manufactured.

In that case, PM me for a pre-order for the PS5, next XBOX, and the next Nintendo.
800* bucks for each, excluding shipping costs. Shipping from EU. ;)

50% fee pre-order cancelling, though.

* = Prices are subject to change and excluding VAT.

Yep, Modchipcentral charged and then is charging a 25% restocking fee if you want to cancel according a a member in the other Wiikey u thread. A restocking fee for a product that doesn't exist. Lol.

I did this, I think I'm going to chargeback it soon. I forgot I even pre-ordered!

Although I've been without the money for almost a year now, soooo this way I could also be the very first to get it *if* it gets released. Not sure why they would charge before getting it in, though. oh well!

I have a pre-order with ModChipCentral, and I think I'll leave it as-is until I hear something definitive either way. I think the 25% fee only applies if you want the money back - personally I've bought so many products from them (DS carts, Wii modchips, Gateway 3DS cart) that I'd take store credit and use it later on.

Just do a chargeback. There is nothing the company can do. Tell your bank that the company is holding your money for a product which does not exist and are refusing to give it back to you. There terms and conditions mean absolutely 0.

Finally got this around to cancelling my preorder for this (seeing as I can't use it anyways, it it doesn't look like its ever going to come out at this point). I had preordered from www.modchipcentral.com which many people here complained about their return policy. Well guess what? First of all, the return policy is clearly stated on their website. Of course, they probably shouldn't have taken any preorders, that required money up front, without seeing video proof of the Wiikey U prototype in action. I will admit though, that Team Wiikey WAS a reputable team back in the original Wii days, so in a way, I can see why they jumped the gun and assumed the product was legit/slated for an actual release.

Not trying to necro an old thread, but I wanted to point out, that their customer service was actually really great! As stated in their return/preorder cancellation policy if you want a refund (actual money, you forfeit 25% of it (due to payment processing charges and what not). However if you want the full value back, you can get it in store credit, and seeing how all of us here are avid modders/hobbyists it only makes sense to just take the store credit and order whatever modding stuff you need going forward with it.

I opted for the store credit, and within 48 hours, they emailed me back with a coupon code for the full amount. People shouldn't be upset of their return/cancellation policy just because you were too lazy to read the fine print. Every company/store whether online or brick and mortar selling any kind of products what so ever always have their own return policies. If you don't agree with the policy, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. If you were too lazy to read the policy, you have no right complaining about it, its your own fault. I'm actually quite impressed with Modchipcentral Customer Service. They resolved the issue in a timely fashion :).

If you live in a country that has half decent consumer laws, garbage return policies such as this are worth less than the word document they are typed in. Just do a reverse charge on your credit card for a complete refund......

If you don't like my comment please flush your head in a toilet.... That is my reply policy.

To each their own, but I went ahead and opted for the store credit and ordered some in stock modding stuff for the 360. You are correct however, federal/national laws supercede a company's specific policy if a conflict arises. The issue at hand though is that Modchipcentral is in Canada (which for anyone outside of Canada is obviously a different country :P), so things get tricky, not to mention their credit card processor is in yet another country, which makes things even more of a hassle (not their fault though, when selling grey market stuff like this, you really have no choice but to use overseas processors). If your credit card company is willing to reverse the charge, no problem fair enough, but I suggest at least contacting Modchipcentral first and see if they'll work something out with you. If you're not satisfied, contact your card company.

Imo in the future to avoid problems like this, Central should do what other "resellers" were doing and do no money down preorders so if the item never sees the light of day, nobody loses any money at all, its a win win. Oh well... Hopefully they learn their lesson for next time. I'm happy though personally with how they handled it with me.

Just as you cancelled, we just saw a release of another 4 Wii U titles. Not sure if this is indicative of anything to come, but with the recent success in Wii U exploiting, who knows. Maybe it's back on.

Not that it matters at this point other than getting tickets to download from NUS. Everything else is obsolete.
