I tried here again:
Download the first american release of SSB, the version with AE manufacturer (SHA1: 0D0D06B31D72D2BB9A3C28A1E2D4E62B54CC5FBC)

Found it in the template and just change the AE to C2 and put my Private ID (my private ID is from Lego Star Wars III, C2 manufacturer):

Write with the disk writer and works fine online:

ok then. I will try again and confirm this works or not
Thanks, Appreciate you testing it out! :D

oh awesome, noticed it worked for you. Thanks so much guys! I should be all set, I ordered my sky 3ds and applied my private header to all games in the sky 3ds template. and I think the sky 3ds template already auto selects the proper manufacturer for games? if not I can change em. :P

sky3ds template file choose manufacturer for they public headers, not yours, so you have to change it back. Just find the right template file for the game and edit it with notepad.

ok I think I got you, Since I use no sky no ban, it automatically changed all the headers in the sky3ds template file too mine. Now I just open the sky3ds template file, find say smash bro's and switch the AE to a C2 to match my private header already in there?

I'm also debating buying a Sky3DS for my new 3ds too. Given that it's like £65 just for the card it's a big decision for me, being a poor uni student, though in the long run I'm positive it'll help me save a lot of money.

I'm just worried that because the sky3ds seems to be an illegal item that if on the off chance that I was scammed through using a UK retailer that I wouldn't be able to receive any sort of compensation for my loss.

Also, I've watched several videos online on how to set up the flashcard, and I'm pretty confident that I'd be able to do it. I wouldn't really bother with the headers and such, since I pretty much own all of the "decent" games which heavily rely on online multiplayer.

Does anybody know how long it takes the sky3ds team to update the template files once a new game has been released? Also, I saw that you have to press the blue button whenever you remove the microsd card. Do you have to do this every time you want to change from your flashcard to a normal game? Like can you turn the console off and replay games and such whilst still having the same save file, or must you press the blue button after every time you save?

they release usually after 1-3 days after the release, for the main games at least.
the blue button pressing is to save the last game to your sd card, so if you saved anything it is recommended.
but that's just when you want to remove the sky3ds to change it or play another cartridge game.
i'd recommend selling all your 3ds games and using that cash to buy sky3ds.

btw, anyone selling a cheap private header? my 3ds is 9.8 and i got no powersave...

Oh, so I should press the blue button after every save? Wouldn't that shift the current game on the sky3ds?

That's good! So in theory I could keep sky3ds and resume using it until even that new AC game gets released?
Also I read about the public and private headers, is it possible to just use a public header (like all digitally downloaded games have) for your roms instead of trying to find a private?

I changed the AE to C2 to Match my Animal Crossing new leaf header, but it's telling me "this gamecard can't access online features" when I try to play smash bros. Did I do something wrong?

In this case I just change the Manufacturer ID on the template. I use my 'lego star wars' C2 header on all games. (when the game in the template use other manufacturer ID, I change to C2).

Works perfect here.

I tried doing this with Animal Crossing with no success. I have a '45' header and need to change to 'AE,' I think. I tried changing the template file by searching for 'CTR-P-EGDE' and then changed 'AE' to '45' and saved the .txt file. I must be doing something incorrect because I still get the 002-123 error. Do you mind walking me through what you are doing step-by-step?

I used no ban no sky to import my animal crossing private header into all the games in the template.txt

Then I opened the template with notepad++ and found my ssb and changed the AE to a C2, but it is telling me "this game card can't go online" when I try to access online features in ssb.

Did I do something wrong? I selected the template before writing with disk writer.

If you did not rip a header from a C2 game, then you do not change it to C2

I'm just going by the info in the sky template

hmm okay, I'll try changing my C2's to AE's then. I'm just a little worried that failing at getting online repeatedly may get me banned.

Even as AE it says "You cannot use online services with this Game Card."

Are you cycling through games after re-writing them to the SD?

I am using a 45 and have changed the .txt file and also within SAK without success. Could this be an issue with animal crossing or the template file?
